Cheers. I didn't know that. I became aware of her a few years ago on the English commentary, and in that language she was definitely the innovator of trying to pronounce names/places as they would be in their native tongue. Which I liked, but also her speaking voice generally and the fact she doesn't feel the need to go bananas every five minutes. Plus she's more knowledgeable than most about races/riders at the lower levels, though oddly not about The WT.

In general I think at the level of knowledge some/most of us have on this forum, the English language commentators often don't add a great deal and can be annoying. So personal preference might simply come down to how much you like listening to them speaking?

That would make sense as her regular gig is the small Belgian and French one day races so doing her homework on spotting riders at that level and their specialty abilities is what is professionally important whereas she does not get to cover the biggest races very often.

I was just kidding. I never understood the hate she gets. She's made some dumb tweets, but her commentary is usually well prepared and rather knowledgeable. I would pick her over half the GCN guys.

It's particularly refreshing that she stays away from the GB jingoism. GCN calls itself "global" but you'd be hard pressed to see that in action. The Euro track championships was particularly egregious.

Great race, great route, nice landscape. One of the best new additions to the calendar.

It makes sense to have it as close to Ruta del Sol as possible, but I wish it would have been held Friday instead. Or alternatively, that Almeria would get the Monday spot.

I agree. Probably too early in the season to become super big, but if it leads in to the main 2.1 Feb races you could get a decent convergence of riders who wanna try it.
