Naaa, you literally couldn't pass anyone there. I would be a fan if there was like 20 riders left in the final (which the organization expected probably), not now.

Turner made the late pass, but it was maybe a little too tight for the most competitive finish.

For a big guy (1.9m? 75 kg) he climbed pretty well there. Last year we saw what a huge engine he had; if it puts it all together he can win a lot more one-day races.

1.94m according to the UCI (maybe bigger, looked much bigger than Meeus who's 1.90m on the same list) and 72.5KG on strava, although probably a little heavier at this point in the season. Extremely lanky and narrow guy. FWIW, he absolutely destroyed the peloton on an uphill finish pulling for Dunbar in Tour de Hongrie, so something like this is relatively easy.

And now I just got "Mallebrok er død i krigen" stuck on my brain... thankyouverymuch.

You're welcome. You could change the lyrics to "Balabrok has won a race" in order to make it less annoying.

Perhaps it was difficult to move up in the final, but at least the Euskaltel riders were easy to pass. They almost made Pozzovivo look fast by comparison

Like i said in opening post. Lots of wind tomorrow. Definitely enough for echelons, but looks like they will get a headwind (once again) mostly. Some parts are open and should have crosswind, but I doubt it will be enough as they are quite far from the finish. There is also a short part in the final circuit, but I don't know if that's exposed enough.

Sad that it's a headwind 90% of the time in the final. Every time there's like a km of crosswind the peloton splits.

Not much happening.
In fact, so much "not much" happening that the commentators were talking about football, and the TV images were showing Flamingos.

Nizzolo: "... Avoid maybe crashes, hopefully not."

I get what he meant, but it kinda sounded like he was hoping to not avoid crashes...
