So I'm late to the party. Was Hagenes dropped from the front group when he gave his wheel to Van Aert? Or had Van Aert joined the front?
Yes, they were both in the peloton.

But I don't know if he had been dropped. It seemed like the initial front group had disintegrated for unknown reasons and was more than halved in size.

Problem is that it's only Tratnik working in the chase group, so Lazkano is the favorite. Lazkano is channeling his inner Pogacar.

It's a bit of a shame. I saw Hagenes, Tratnik, Wellens, Lazkano & Turner had more than a minute on the peloton earlier, so I had big hopes of that being the decisive move. A very Hagenes kinda race this.

It's also a very Lazkano race, and it's really looking like he's staying away now.
