Any Rock after 1980 has been composed by the hand of Satan.
We have not even gone pre Beatles.
Today
**** Dale and the Deltones
The Four Seasons
The Beach Boys
The Four Tops

All music after 1980 was produced by Hatians? (really bad joke)

Deacon Blue for probably the first time in 10 years..

Its amazing the capacity of the human brain.. listening to music ive not listened to for 10, maybe even 15 years and can still remember every word pretty much..

The human brain is so incredible, and mine doesnt even work properly..

Makes me wonder though, how come ive flooded the kitchen three times this month from forgetting to turn the tap off, yet i can remember the most complicated bob dylan lyrics..

maybe your taste shows your age... very successful in Down Under!

3 of their albums are in the top 20 of the highest selling albums of the decade in Aus. They are always the lead act at a lot of the festivvals over here and have actually been asked a few times to play in England... One of their tours around Aus was the fastest and biggest selling tour of an australian act. Only the 2nd act in Aus music history to have 5 no1 albums.

So not many people think they are average over here. Better than any crappy Britsh rock band like Muse. Matt bellammy needs to learn how to sing...

.

That could of course just be an example of the dire strait of the music industry in general over the last ten years..

So who was the first act to have five number 1 albums.. (I assume you mean australian acts, not all acts)

Silverchair. Good band as well.

Yes, some may think their has been a dire strait of music in the past decade though some younger people may argue different. What modern music do you listen to?

i just caught the Manassas post as i was zooming down.
they were great. Chris Hillman is way under appreciated.

Got to see them live once long ago.
Great show done largely acoustic.
With a solo Stills set.

I've been listening to Charlie Musselwhite, John Mayer, Dave Matthews, the Faces, Corky Siegel, Dave Ray, Emmylou Harris, Gram Parsons, John Hiatt, John Mayall, some Pink Floyd, and Ry Cooder.

I've been using various CDs of the above and making my own playlists for the ride to and from work and to the volleyball tournaments my daughter does where I have lots of down time. I don't listen to any music while riding though: I like to hear myself grunt and curse!

Most of us every day cycle to work Dutch folk tend to have music on when we pedal.

I never ever listen to music while riding. I can't imagine anything more dangerous than not being able to hear what's going on around me.

Ah yes.. Neil had a habit of bailing if things weren't going exactly to his liking.
I was proud of him for lasting through the y2k tour. lol.. which I got to see... they were fantastic.
I'll bet the Roxy was incredible in those days.
One summer when I lived in Santa Cruz Neil started showing up out of the blue playing clubs like the Catalyst in band called "the Ducks". He'd been doing acoustic stuff for a couple of years and I think he was wanting to get his his electric shops back. (that black les paul) so I think he just wanted to play live and do extended solos. Great stuff. One night at the Catalyst the drummer that I think used to be the Moby Grape guy was so drunk he could hardly stay on his stool and 'ol Neil just soldiered on and plowed through this guys slop like there was nothing wrong.
Thanks for starting this walk down memory lane.
