I liked this one, which I think was their best back in the 80s...
Big fan since I heard Spirit of Eden the first time. I actually think you lead me to explore the album with one of your previous Talk Talk posts.
Colour of Spring and Spirit of Eden are both fantastic albums. Laughing Stock is probably the most refined album, but it is too experimental and non-melodic for me to really appreciate. That said, I absolutely adore this particular piece from that album:
Yeah, I probably repeat myself. Like I said, I listen to the Mark Hollis album at least once a year and I can't help but feel compelled to share.
I know someone who is trained in music and he's like "meh" about this record, but to this untrained ear, I submit it is one of my favourite albums of all time.

Your post reminded me that I forgot about Laughing Stock. I know you don't like it, but for any Talk Talk fans out there, the self-titled Mark Hollis seems like a sequel to Laughing Stock. I guess I can look this up, but what happened? Why did the band break up? Both albums flow together, what with the range of experimentation and the ushering in of post-rock.
Thank you for reminding me of a brilliant album.
