@Tricycle Rider regarding javelin throwing:D:

Music vid shot @ Brunswick Velodrome, Melbourne
Merpire, the singer-songwriter in this video, was a sprinter/javelin thrower in high school & her dad Andrew placed third in the javelin in his age-group at the 2009 World Masters Games in Sydney, Australia.

At the Tokyo Olympics, Australia had three women in the top eight in the javelin, including Kelsey-Lee Barber (the defending world champion from Doha 2019) who won bronze.

Saw this video posted on another forum, and I'm sure everyone here has already seen it. But for those who haven't (and because I haven't until now), I simply must share this pure... well, there's a fine line between genius and awful frontmanship. I think this dude's got a bit of both.

PS - This is how I would expect most pro cyclists to look/act like when they show up at the local dance club.

Listening to this amazing fighter pilots' ballad from Dos Gringos, who were flying, singing, and fighting back in the days of GWB! :D

View: https://youtu.be/PZnsEKKa_p4
LYRICS:

Well I was on my ACT upgrade
Standard 4vX
The AWACS guy was out to lunch
And I couldn’t get no decs

But I knew that they were hostile
But I couldn't take the chance
So I flipped the switch to outboard
And said, "Boys, it's time to dance"

And they asked me, "Where ya goin'?"
As I started to diverge
Said "I had enough of this ***, man
I'm goin' to the merge"

'Cause BVR is great
But now it's time to have some fun
So Darkstar, Judy Judy
I'm goin' in for guns

[Interlude]

Well I was flyin' out of Nellis
Doin' dark gray WIC support
I was out there by my lonesome
'Cause my buddy was a mort

And I saw that big fat ***
In a turn off to my right
He was either lost
Or he was lookin' for a fight

So I put him in my HUD
And I almost flipped the switch
But then I thought, how could I miss?
'Cause that's a huge ***!

And only a big pussy
Would use his two fox ones
It's time to get medieval
I'm goin' in for guns

[Interlude]

We were back in Iraq
For the second set
Killin' every fuckin' thing
That they parked in a revet

And I saw me close to sixty-nine
Trucks parked in a row
But I knew I shouldn't do it
But I just could not say no

And I called up twenty mike-mike
And I rolled it for the pass
Knowin' my commander
He was gonna chew my ass

But this issue's black and white
Like a school bus full of nuns
And someone's gotta make the call
I'm goin' in for guns

[Interlude]

Well I'd just been out for Mexican
And my stomach was in knots
From a greasy chimichanga
And two tequila shots

And I had to step in five
For my one DACT
As I yelled over my shoulder
"Don't nobody wait for me!"

I was runnin' down the hall
Like I'd never run before
And I began to wonder
If I'd make it to the door

'Cause every second counts
When your ass has got the runs
And I made the call behind the stall:
"I'm goin' in for guns!"

So basically, in your own mind - what do these lyrics mean to you?
