Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros- Up from Below (which my ten year old son detests; calls it hippie music!)

I really, really like this band.

CAN-Tago Mago 40th Anniversary Edition
Just finished a nice long MTB ride on Boxing Day with this as the soundtrack. It was perfect. Their rhythm oriented music goes well with pedalling, and is especially good for its lack of repetition. One of the finest experimental bands and kraut rock at its best.

a daring intro, and yes I've drowned large amounts of alcohol listening to their music.

On vacation I bought a tape, which happened to be The Cars' debut album 'The cars' from 1978:

And no, it wasn't played on a walkman prototype at the time. Later I bought the Vinyl version as well.

Alas I haven't played the album for 25 years, but it kicked off lots of stuff at the time imo.

Bought my first Walkman sometime around '91. Spend most my cash on huge loudspeakers, amps etc. Most the stuff had to go to the dump later....

Hard rock works very well in live concerts, but rarely on studio albums imo.

Early Black Sabbath is still some of the best ever done imo.

Unlike a tiny group of other great musicians from the era, Page left everything on the table by the late 70's imo.

After that, it was reengineering, mastering, getting together again, optimization etc.
