Just learned that the vocalist of Stone Temple Pilots died, currently listening to Plush.
sad.
Core is among the best grunge records ever made.
i have the first three albums and the unplugged.
i was slightly disappointed with what followed, stopped following them afterwards.
reminiscing.

Singer of Alice in Chains also died too early.
Was said to use speed and coke at every gig, his voice depended on it.

Yeah, was kinda shocked when I saw the news too, but then again it wasn't so unexpected, considering his past.
I agree about Core, although I always skip "Wed My Bed" on Core. Actually liked some of Weilands later stuff too from Velvet Revolver. Their 2004 album "Contraband", although hardly innovating, is a solid effort, that really rocks imo.

Great song, but I have to say that Disintegration isn't my favourite The Cure album, I prefer Pornography and Seventeen Seconds.

Not a big fan of The Cure as I'm more into The Smiths, but I do love the Disintegration album, especially "The Same Deep Water as You". One of the darkest albums I've ever listened to

Saw this band a long time ago - probably the best live show I've ever seen. :D

The best music artist imo, and for sure one of the most exciting and non-conventional out there. He can play almost every instrument, and has an incredible voice and song-writing ability.

His first album will be out in 2016. Really looking forward to out.

This is his best song, a 8 minutes epos contaning jazz, soul, funk, rock and pop. A lot of people compare him with Jeff Buckley, but i think his music is even more refreshing and surprising.

I've just bought a cassette player to listen to my big stack of mixtapes from my young(er) days in the mid-to-late 90's. It's great fun to stumble upon songs I've forgotten all about, and one of them is this lovely Cardigans-cover of a classic Thin Lizzy-tune.

Think she then does something with Mark Linkus of Sparlehorse? The Delgados (the member not the band) do you know?

Linkus may just have produced her solo work I think.

What was the David Lynch Sparklehorse Modest Moust side project called? was called something I cant remember, but if I had to make a name up, it was called something like Dastardly Dave...

apart from *** Diver, not the FScott character, I am also listening to another of the Mels (Melbourne jingley jangley bands) Twerps.

they are part of the dolewave movement where dole in dolewave refers to the public benefits/social securiy,

I prefer to refer to it was dolecore, not dolewave. or, dole nouvelle vague or whatever the french film new wave movement is spellled in francais...

Yup. Nina Persson contributed to the Sparklehorse album It's a Wonderful Life, while Mark Linkous returned the favor by producing her A Camp album. It might've been the other way around, I think both albums was released in 2001.

The Sparklehorse/Danger Mouse side project was called Dark Night of the Soul, and featured a bunch of interesting artists, from Black Francis to Iggy Pop, Suzanne Vega to David Lynch. As a long-time Sparklehorse fan, I wasn't particularly overwhelmed by the project in its entirety, but it did feature a couple of terrific tracks, my favorite being the Flaming Lips collaboration 'Revenge'.

On the Swedish theme, I saw Flaming Lips and Elliott Smith in Gamlastan the old quarter in Stockholm in 2000 with my svenske flickvan

Dark Night of the Soul, yep, pretty content with how my memory created a mood feel name "Dastardly Dave". Lynch woulda appreciated that. I knew I was creating it out of my mind, and it was not the name, but I could not access the name in the memory and refused the google algorithm, yet preferred my own inner algorithm.

going thru some Stephin Merritt/Magnetic Fields atm
