R.E.M. - It's The End Of The World

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z0GFRcFm-aY&list=RDZ0GFRcFm-aY#t=20

Don't like to get into political stuff with you guys because, if you run into some kind of trouble on the road with your bike I'll help you out no matter what your political persuasions are (because, frankly, at that point I won't give a damn), but this Trump shite...

It won't be the end of the world (hopefully), but it may change it in ways that some of us may not like.

Btw., the elderly people I work with (the "Greatest Generation", as they are called here in the US) are in complete disbelief of the election results, and they cannot believe just how low the political election process here has sunken. (Even some of them want to move to Canada now.)

In an article I read very recently Julia Jacklin said this was her favourite song:

A couple of long time mates and I like slipping song lyrics
in conversation, banter, and more recently emails...mostly
Bob Dylan, truth be told, but Leonard is a gold mine for very
useful quotes and phrases too. When Marianne Ihlen passed
last July, he did say he was very soon to follow.

A new face moved in to the top floor of the Tower of Song.

If it be Your Will

Leonard Cohen is, was, one of my absolute favourites, whose music has been there throughout for me. There's nobody quite like him, and it's quite likely there never will be either. A great until the very end, and a man whose deadpan delivery and reputation as relentlessly bleak belied a knack for dark humour and wry irony that sat perfectly aside the plaintive, melancholy verses that were such a staple.

I'm genuinely saddened to hear of his passing, and the world will miss one of its greatest musical minds and the greatest lyricist of the modern era.

I hate to say but at some point Leonard Cohen's political activism was not commendable at all but he could write some nice melodies though and had a beautiful voice. At least he's not going to be a Nobel. :p

Okay I was talking about his singing for Tsahal during the Yom Kippur War in 1973...
