I'm not a huge fan of Joy Division, don't mind them either, but obviously they did some great stuff that inspired other great artists. Here's three of my favorite Joy Division covers.

Galaxie 500 - Ceremony
Low - Transmission
Therapy? - Isolation

I suppose, technically, Ceremony isn't a Joy Division song, but rather a New Order track. But...well.

All three are great tracks.

Lifehouse is one of my favorites, but I had not heard that one.

For some easy listening I like: Explosions in the Sky – Look into the air and some other stuff of theirs as well.
Or Death Cab for Cutie – You’re a tourist
Or (not so easy listening) Blink 182 – Up all night

World at large is great, as is Modest Mouse in general. Do you like Modest Mouse – Missed the boat or Float On?

I like Modest Mouse :) Never heard of them before but a +1

Damian Marley & Nas - In his own words

Damian Marley & Nas - Strong Will Continue

These are some great lyrics :)

[Damian Marley (Nas)]
When the armageddon's dark and dread
(I get up and make it happen)
A lot of weak hearted weep and moan
(I get up and we get it cracking)
Only the strong will continue
Do you have it in you?
Come, we've got a journey to go
And when the battle get sour and tread
(I get up and I get it going)
A lot of weak hearted wither and moan
(We get up and we keep it flowing)
Only the strong will continue (yeah)
I know you have it in you (yeah, yeah)
I know you have it in you

[Damian Marley]
No man live forever, but never say never
Every good he want better, must be a go getter
And always be clever in every endeavor
Now drastic time call for drastic measure
Your girl try to pleasure from your neighbors, things sever
The land and the treasure, work for whatever
Jah said don't be a beggar, the Alpha Omega
Will bless every soul no matter which name you prefer
The immortal stepper, believe in every skin no matter which color they are
We never let we don't know here which kind of weather
You're destined to rise like the Son of Rebecca
Don't stop for a second
Everyone reckon, it sure would be good to be there
Whether Zion or Mecca
When the gates are finally closed
And the saints go marching in

You bet.
Ohh, ah ah ah ah.

BTW, if that "ah ah ah ah" is not trademark lyrics or a calling card for Disturbed I don't know what is. Hear that, and you know who the band is right away. Anyone know any other trademark/calling card (not in legal sense ofc) lyrics by bands?

When I hear some witless tripe meant to pander to the lowest commom denominator I immediately know I'm listening to a Kid Rock song. :p

I wonder if you will like this one on3m@n@rmy?

Always a Winner - Pete Murray

Rock/acoustic/blues singer. Nice voice, nice music. He's an aussie as well.

Looks a bit like the video is recorded the same place as Fluorescent Adolescent.

Definitely not my taste though. Way too popish (is that spelled correctly or I'm I just talking about popes now?..)

The video is really lame. tbh, I wouldn't say that is music style is that mainstream. This type of music and music such as Powderfinger's music fits more into 90's and early 2000's mainstream music more so than now in Australia.

loved it and never heard him before. Kind of hillbilly rock. Jobiwan might like this too. ;) Entertaining video too btw.

Good.

I just endured a song by Maroon 5 on the NFL pre-game. Until that point, I was blissfully unaware that a band that sucked that bad actually existed. What in the ever living **** is that ****? That was the weakest, most repulsive form of music I have ever listened to. How those guys ever rose above "hey waiter" is a complete mystery. Please, please, for the love of all that is holy, please tell me they are not the vanguard of popular music these days.
