This is one of the all-time most memorable guitar solos and perfect guitar interpretation of a classic music ("Flight of the Bumblebee" by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov) performed by the GREAT Portuguese guitarist Nuno Bettencourt (from Extreme). Billy Bragg has been very well known in the UK for years. He's pretty radical politically (he was the most prominent songwriter critic of the Thatcher government), so probably didn't travel very well.

The Foals are cool.

Come to think of it, maybe Killing Joke's was too. This is the Damned from 1982: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TaDbMZlN2Pg And yes, KJ ware one of a kind. Was it after the first record that Jaz convinced himself that there was a nuclear war coming and that Iceland would be the ideal place to duck the fallout. He lived there a couple of years if I remember correctly.

On another note, I'd like to add Mission of Burma to Libertine's concise listing, although some might disagree whether they really represent post punk in its purest form at all. For one thing they are American! If you have spotify, check out Burma's "Weatherbox" and "Tremelo" from the Horrible Truth about Burma live recording. So intense. Somehow they are not on youtube.
