Ha. I grew up in that area. Seattle has a lot of steep hilly streets. The stuff you just know to stay away from on bad snow days. Trouble is, many ppl there are really not prepared for that sort of thing partly because Seattle does not get a lot of snow. Other trouble is, there are enough hills around there that trying to find an alternate route to avoid the steep roads is a bit like trying to pick the lesser of two evils. Essential winter driving gear = studded snow tires on all 4, chains in the trunk, plus a little bag of snow melt in the trunk. Then hit the ski slopes. Nice Geritol music though.

snow & music, music & snow... cars, snow & music... i don't think that video would have interested me without music, though i live in almost the same latitude and have enough snow, the temperature doesn't exceed -15C (5 F) for almost two weeks, great!

Got Me Under Pressure

Seattle temperatures on the coast are moderated by the Pacific and Puget Sound. But 250 miles inland where I am in the rain shadow of the mountains it gets and stays plenty cold, commonly 20-34F (~-7-1C) most of the winter. Not as cold as your location though.

Not long back from seeing Big Country in their home town of Dunfermline:) 30 year anniversary tour of The Crossing LP. No Stuart (RIP) but Mike Peters was really good in his place. Think of a Big Country song and it was played:) Great gig and only 15 minutes from the Ferry.

The Aloof weren't one hit wonders - they made loads of great tunes. I always thought Drum was their biggest - it appeared on a range of compilations - I'd never heard the one you linked. Apologies if I have mixed up different artists here.
