It would have to be how well Team Greenedge has performed so far this season, winning TDU,Milan san remo,Catalunya etc..Not only has Gerrans finally shown us all the promise he has had for so long but Albasini coming back into great form.Durbridge is also worth mentioning with plenty of promise for the future. For me the best race was definantley paris roubaix considering Tommeke crushed all his competitors in such an impressive way and still has more cobble race wins to go.So for now i say "bring on Liege"

This was a good thread. I needed a reminder of the great moments of 2012; 2011 and 2012 in total hindsight naturally filter out the boring and mundane and focus on the extraordinary, making all of 2012 seem like something less than status quo.

Looking forward to GT season(s)

The stage at Wilunga Hill was pretty neat with Haas going on the attack, Rogers besting Eddy Boss, and of course Valverde winning the stage.

I thought a classic, 1 stage in each GT, and a total of 20 wins, would be a good season for them...They have the classic, and 11 wins and it's only April...much of the rest relies on Goss to be honest.
Give me a break! NOt even there most loyal supporters expected what you are claiming. I was one of their biggest detractors yet I have been pleasnatly surprised by the way they have performed.

Hey, do you know who won the amstel gold race? please help me remember

Can you tell me how many races they have won? Yes, two. Can you tell me how many races Astana have had no impact in comparison to BMC?

OPQS.
Boonen's northen Classic wins.
AGR ( sprint ).
Gerrans winning MSR was a good moment.
I liked being at Wilunga and watching Valverde vs Gerrans.
Vanmarcke, Sagan and Demare- the young riders of the future.

Laughing at Cav after MSR.

Reading my comprehension my friend, i stated what a good season would be, not what was expected.
As for how reasonable it is, 20 wins for a sprint based team is not tricky to come by. 1 GT stage each GT, again for a team with Howard, and Goss for sprints, Gerrans, Albasini and Weening for breaks, it's optimistic, but not a stretch, the classic...I'll admit that was always optimistic, but they got it.

Highlights really have been Brabantse Pijl and Brabantse Pijl, oh and when Voekler rode away during Brabantse Pijl, that was pretty good.

J-Rod has been awesome all season and likewise S Sanchez and (I'm actually a little shocked) Greenedge. Tornado season was interesting, but everything became fait accompli too easily to make great spectator sport.

Oh and Voekler's line into the corner before the major rise in the finale of Brabantse Pijl. Definitely a highlight.

Oh and the Imaginary Aerobars poll with two options, both hugely unpopular.

I like your "wurth", and cipo's throw-back thin tie, but her nails seem a bit too clipped...

No trolling? This whole thread STARTED with a troll! A mundane season? Oh my heavens y'all must be on a different planet than me.

Voeckler - super cool win. The following week, I forget the race - Tommy started off the front again - but the lead folks marked him. About 10 seconds later they let somebody else go - and he won in an excellent finish.

For Cav haters (sourpusses all) it has been a marvelous season. I'm a Cav fan myself.

For Boonen fans it has been an excellent season! I am no longer a Boonen fan.

Stevens win over Vos - excellent!

How about the fact that I can get all these races live video? TOTALLY EXCELLENT! i even got the Stevens-Vos finish in replay!

For all you nattering nabobs of negativity who think this has been a mediocre, mundane, or boring season to date? Go ride your bike more. Make your own good times! :) But then, perhaps you were just trolling for a little verbal repartee. Good job on that!

2. UK Postal born. Destroying competition in Algarve and then taking PN.
3. Westra v Wiggo duel in TT
4. OPQS in general
5. Boonen's season
6. GreenEdge pulling above weight and getting some great results.
7 .Voeckler amazing rides at Ronde, Pjil and Amstel
8. Nordhaug perofmances, one of the most improved riders in peleton this year
9. Henao adapting well to europe
10. Sanchez v Rodriguez duel in Pais Vasco
11. Trentino's epic racing

There's probably much more, but those came top off my head right now :p

Gerrans, JTL/Endura and Nordhaug have been my three favourite developments. Great to see Rodriguez finally winning FW; Sagan becoming almost all-conquering, but not actually conquering; Paris-Nice TT; unpredictability of the Ardennes. Lots of stuff.

1. Andy Schleck's big mouth
2. Boonen's solo in Roubaix
3. Pippo's non-wheelsucking revival
4. Thor Hushovd's big mouth
5. Chava's overall win in De Panne.

I'll name one great thing about the season so far... the Northern Classics and Semi-Classics, they are great every year, and in the long run, greater than any one rider or (lack of) performance.
I can't wait for Het Volk 2013
