The course was also shortened to ~35km, just in case anyone is wondering about Hutch's 33mph average :)

I live in belfast so maybe not too close to the TT but the weather has been terrible over here today. Wet and windy

I've never really believed in Basso as a domestique. He's not been a good domestique in 2009 when he should've, and he's almost never been in his entire career.
He's really Tour Plan B for Leaky.

More like C:D

It's embarrassing to see how ****ty EBH suddenly has become in the ITT this year. It's beyond me why he doesn't train for it. He was one of the greatest ITT talents in the world and now he's completely useless. It's as if his only goal is to become exactly like Hushovd, i.e a great classics/TT talent who would rather be a sprinter and spends the main part of his career in the wrong team.

I agree that EBH might be in the wrong team ( with so many other stars ) but i honestly don't know how Hushovd was at the wrong team whilst sprinter ( he won 2 green jerseys- though maybe since i only started following cycling a while ago i don't know ). Hushovd also got a prologue win at the TDF- so he did not exactly fail in that department.

If anything this year EBH focused too much on the Classics ( him dropping in P-R was almost painful ).

Nordhaug actually dropped his chain during today's ride, so if not for that particular accident he probably would've beaten Edvald as well. Quite fascinating, considering that 2 years ago Nordhaug would probably have been beaten by 6 minutes or so.

Neither of them will win the road race since Nordhaug has said that he won't be riding for Edvald, which basically means that a random early breakaway will win, since none of the pros have teammates.

Now, I think you are ommiting big fact Maltiv.

Specialization.

Everyone here said that EBH was amazin and talented, but didn't specialize in one 'category' and was just good in all of the, what I see is that's he actually now trying to specialize in Classics/Sprints.

In TT's wins are limited, why would he really practice where he can become much better.

It's Pro Cycling, it's not junior level where you can win every type of stage as EBH did.

He has to choose where to base his training most, and to me he made that choice.

He can't be good in everything mate, or he'll never win something big.

Okay... now I'm confused!

CN's Danish TT results:

1 Jacob Fuglsang (Radioshack-Nissan) 0:48:15
2 André Steensen (Glud & Marstrand - LRØ) 0:00:41
3 Michael Mørkøv (Team Saxo Bank) 0:00:55
4 Mads Christensen (Team Saxo Bank) 0:00:59
5 Brian Vandborg (Spidertech-C10) 0:01:12
6 Rasmus Brandstrup Sterobo (Glud & Marstrand - LRØ) 0:01:27
7 Chris Anker Sørensen (Team Saxo Bank) 0:01:28
8 Alex Rasmussen (Team Garmin-Barracuda) 0:02:15
9 Lasse Bøchman (Glud & Marstrand - LRØ) 0:02:20
10 Markus Kilsgaard (Team Lyngby CC) 0:02:46

Feltet.dk's latest results:

1 Jacob Fuglsang - Radioshack-Nissan 48:14.7
2 André Steensen - Glud & Marstrand - LRØ 48:56.1
3 Michael Mørkøv - Team Saxo Bank 49:09.7
4 Mads Christensen Team Saxo Bank 49:13.6
5 Brian Vandborg - CCH Hjørring 49:26.4
6 Rasmus Brandstrup Sterobo - Glud & Marstrand - LRØ 49:41.4
7 Alex Rasmussen - Team Garmin-Barracuda 50:29.7
8 Lasse Bøchman - Glud & Marstrand - LRØ 50:34.6
9 Chris Anker Sørensen - Team Saxo Bank 50:42.3
10 Markus Kilsgaard - Team Lyngby CC 51:00.3

There seem to be a bit of confusement around places 7-9... I'm inclined to believe Feltet more than CN because surely climber Chris didn't do better than TT'er Alex...

Probably Rasmussen isn't at his best now after the Giro. What's his next goal? Post Danmark Rundt?
CAS has never been too bad against the watch.

Seems like it's a typo + some forgotten seconds in CAS's time. The time wasn't 00.40.42! but 00.50.42.something.
In any case the 2.28 behind the winner makes sense then, as does his 9th place 2.28 behind the winner.

I'm pretty sure Alex's next goal is the Olympics... And they always talk about how Chris isn't too great against the clock... but then again; isn't that true for most climbers? At least he's no Chicken...

Extremely Exaggerated version of the Estonian Road Race profile(they ride it 10 times):
EESTI_MV.png

Rein Taaramäe said yesterday about it that it is the hardest track that could be made in Estonia... says alot about our land :D

Anyway the race has already started and should finish in about 2 hours and I'll tell you the results as it does ;)

Right now there is a 7-man group ahead: Sander Maasing, Rein Taaramäe, Gert Jõeäär, Erki Pütsep, Tanel Kangert, Mart Ojavee and Martin Puusepp

Seems unlikely that a pro rider would ride a crit right before the Tour. Those things are like a deathmatch.

Don't worry, kermiskoersen are actually very entertaining. :D

There will be a lot of attacking, so it's going to be a very entertaining race. Last year, Phil already eliminated more than half of the peloton at 70km to go and the race was also flat(except for that little berg near the finish with an average of like 2-3% lol).

Ever heard of Ruddervoorde koerse or Halle-Ingooigem(also ends like a criterium) ? Many Tour riders were on the start lists there. Veelers, v Hummel, Ten Dam, Tankink, Ruijgh, Nuyens and Vandenberg all rode there.

Blue-Black-White shirt goes to Astana! Kangert won ahead of Jõeäär and Taaramäe. Tanel attacked successfully on the last lap and managed to get away.

And Tanel Kangert is the new Estonian Road Race national champion! Over a minute ahead of Gert Jõeäär and Rein Taaramäe, who got silver and bronze respectively. Taaramäe tried hard in the final climb but couldn't get away and Kangert countered him.

With all due respect, those guys aren't EBHs, so to speak.

Although I don't see what would be the higher risk of a crit race as opposed to the nationals.

Hmmm Taaramae still not really there I guess? He TT'd decent in the nats, beaing Kangert and all, but not being able to keep up with Kangert here doesn't promise much for the TDF. Too bad for Taaramae :(

Nice for Kangert though; he struggled with pfeiffer in the past too I think? Now he's back on the right track this season!

yeah, I think it'll be a good race nonetheless

btw, in today's Het Nieuwsblad there was an interview with Nico Eeckhout and he said in 20 years he never faced an opponent as strong as Gilbert in last year's race.
