Damn it. I missread what jens wrote. When he said ''He will take'' i tought he was saying 'He will participate'. Basicly what i was trying to say is that it is impossible for him to take it because of the profile. Silly me.

João Cabreira won the nationals on this course in 2011. Nationals are often not a normal race.

That said, I still think it's more likely to be a sprint, so it comes down to if anybody can outpace Manuel Cardoso, whether it be Filipe, Caldeira, Ribeiro or somebody else.

It's not impossible. Two years ago, If I'm not mistaken, the portuguese national title was disputed beetween two riders who escaped the peloton. Even though the circuit was a bit different it doesn't matter. Roads around Pataias are flat period.

Curiously... in that edition....João Cabreira won by beating Mário Costa (brother of Rui Costa).

IMO, Mauel Cardoso is the favourite. Portuguese teams will have to decide what's their best shot against him. Drag the peloton to the line and bet in the sprint or win it from a break.

Yep, and he managed to drop the best sprinter on the "climb", so his chances are pretty good. The lap is 12,5km btw.
