Apparently Nizzolo caught Brambilla on the descent and Pozzato won the reduced sprint behind them.
Edit: Once again Ulissi wasn't able to deliver when he's actually the favourite and/or a marked man.

Gilbert was the strongest, great race!

7th second place in 3 weeks for Lotto Soudal, Luckily Greipel won in Germany.

In the italian RR Moscon finished 5th and Rosa finished 8th.
I guess Greipel has shown why he should be the team captain in the WC RR, he knows how to race and win one day races, Kittel on the other hand has never delivered in a real one day race.

In Slovenia 2 laps (28km) to go. Roglic and Tratnik now in the lead with 30s on the trio Mezgec, Pibernik, Per. The others are too far behind, more than 3 minutes.

Edit: actually is close to 5 minutes already.

Last lap: Tratnik alone in the lead with almost 1min over Roglic. The trio is 10s further back. Seems strange Roglic lost so much time in one lap. Maybe he fell or Tratnik is just super strong.

The Scheldeprijs is VERY real.
No, that race just one of those horror stories that Belgian cyclist have invented to scare neopros.

Final results:
1.Tratnik
2.Mezgec
3.Per
4.Pibernik
5.Roglic

Edit: Apparently Roglic had a mechanical in the penultimate lap, that's why he lost contact with Tratnik. Nice win by Tratnik nonetheless.

Ouch. Sad to see Cavendish declining like this. Being beaten by 3rd tier sprinters. I'll be amazed if he wins just one stage at the Tour.

Blythe was in the break but Cav worked A LOT today to keep it together. He would have won that 5 years ago but not a terrible performance like some are making it out to be

Cavendish had to do a lot of work pulling the break back though, slightly mugged in the end by Blythe, poor show from Fenn not really challenging after Peters did so much work

Not sure more could have been expected from Fenn.
