There was nobody that was not in shock from the Chargers self imposed implosion..and the age old football coaching rule...score when you can..was ignored. It's fortunate for all people currently watching the NFL, when the TV commentator says..@2 minutes is lots of time for..Rodgers,Brady,and last night Mahomes..lots of great plays from Chargers and Chiefs, ultimately 8+minutes of a tight end playing at 110% was the big difference.
Chargers were in the game also because of Mahomes throwing lots of bad passes
It was kind of strange how he would throw a perfect ball followed by 3 or 4 dead ducks, and then a great ball followed two or three off target.

It looks like Parham Jr is going to be okay diagnosed with a concussion. I missed most of the game but saw the textbook catch he made in the back of the endzone only to drop the ball upon impact with the ground & go into what looked like a seizure. Tough guys in the NFL - I hope he can return soon.

Hopefully he doesn’t have any countercoup from hitting his head.

What went from NE’s worst loss since the 16-0 at home loss to Buffalo turned into a one score game before the two minute warning that ended with Jonothan Taylor powering his way on a huge 67 yard run to go up two scores and guarantee the win. A big letdown from NE leaving Chiefs by themselves for now and they have to be worried if the Bills they beat or the ones TB beat show up next week as the division is in the balance.

Edit. Even worse Colts out NE’d NE with 5 completions and stunting NE’s rushing attack.
And another player joins Covid list.

Cardinals are a mess. The front seven is putting zero pressure on opposing QBs, even Goff had a monster game. Murray has been inaccurate for two games in a row and he's not been helped by his WRs (many drops). Now they get the Colts and the Cowboys...

Yeah a lot of huge upsets today! It’s making me nervous for BAL vs GB and NO vs TB.

I don’t know what happened but the games have been crazy.

Tough loss for Bal falling 31-30 with failing on the two point conversion. Against Pittsburgh I didn’t agree with it as they most likely win that game in overtime while it is not certain against Rodgers. Even with that Rodgers still had 40 seconds and a timeout to make a field goal happen. If they go for the two points I think a shotgun play was better to have the whole field and Hundly able to run in if needed.

Couldn't believe the result of the Cards game but Detroit have had a lot of narrow losses and been hosed by the refs a few times. They are better than their record but next week they will probably get beaten up, you can never tell with these kind of teams. Goff seems to be improving after looking terrible last season. Lions now drop to number two draft pick. Cards are not even certain to win the NFC West now and that looked a given a few weeks ago. The Watt and Hopkins injures not helping them.

This Saints vs Bucs game has been a crazy defensive game that the refs have been letting play in regards to the hits and holding. Saints defense has been alive like crazy.

Good win for the Saints. The Bucs only looked like they could score on three drives; the field goal miss, Brady fumble, and the throw Gronk didn’t see that hit him in the arm deep. Otherwise the Saints defense was a monster. It is even more ironic with the Man in the Arena game being the famous”My husband can’t throw and catch the ball at the same time.” and they played as a team like it. Packers should have the one seed locked up and Saints should make the playoffs. If I was the Bucs, I’d try avoiding them as much as possible as they have no answer to them offensively with their aggressiveness and abilities.

Sainta probably have one of the easiist schedules of the teams vying for the playoffs while the Niners who are one win ahead of them have to play the Titans on a short week plus the Rams although they have beaten the Rams in their past five meetings. The Niners should beat the Texans and also now have beaten the Falcons,Vikings and Eagles if it comes down to finishing on the same amount of wins. 49ers probably have to win two of their last 3, only one win will be relying too much on other results but still mathematically possible.

Bad day for the Broncos (imagine that). Teddy B knocked out of the game in the 3rd qtr with a concussion. Insert Lock & he fumbles in the red zone in a late 4th qtr drive that could have been the game-winning drive. It looks like Lock is a bust - not only did he lose the starting job to Teddy B in the pre-season but he's demonstrated an incapability of coming off the bench & winning these close games. Elway blew it with this 2nd rd draft pick. This was a good defensive matchup that was definitely winnable. The Chiefs are now running away with the division and the Broncos at 7-7 are falling out of WC contention.

Yeah I would not want to play them, Colts, and oddly the Steelers in the playoffs. Vikings and Niners can also cause trouble depending on if it’s the great or not so great version. I hope the playoffs are as exciting as the regular season has been. I think every prime time game has come down to being close to the end compared to before when we’d get a lot of blow outs.

Coming into the week we had multiple teams fighting for both number 1 seeds and now at one in each conference that should hold it to the end of the year.

Yep and the Ravens/GB game was another entertaining one. Ravens back up QB had a very good game. Detroit absolutely dominated the Cards and the Steelers/Titans game was crazy.

Who saw a 9-0 Saints win over the Bucs? That was crazy.
This blew me away. Also the first half of the Pittsburgh Steelers game was an example of a 180 turn around..I still can't believe they won..
And Brady's press conference was classic..he looks at the reporter and in disgust, says" you can't win it you don't score any points "

Godwin out with a torn ACL and Fournette out for at least a week. No word on Evans hamstring injury yet.

I agree with Collinsworth that reducing high hits has led to more (dangerous) low hits. When a guy's legs get taken out a speed something has to give. That doesn't mean that I disagree with the rule(s), but high hits lead to poor/shorter end of life, while low hits lead to end of career (but at least maybe OK life after NFL).

Offense are chop blocking low quite often or low enough but if it happens to a QB its a penalty while players like Kittle who always have YAC can be held by three defenders, a staionery target and another defender is allowed to rush in late and line him up. You can hear the whistles being blown to call the play dead witn no more forward progress but they usually don;t penalize a late hit unless its helmet to helmet or a QB hit.Sure sometimes the defender is already committed to the tackle but some of the hits on stationery targets are very late and the ball carrier is already being held by the arms and legs while you only have to touch a kick returner or kicker to draw a penalty. Makes little sense. They go out of their way to protect the QB and kickers but not the rest of the offense...........head shots on kick returners can be bad but often the injuries are caused by the really low hits. Usually the most horrific collisions are happening to the returners because of the speed factor. as opposed to someone being manhandled on the O line.

Yes and the whole night the Saints were going low if hitting by themselves or high and low if together.
Sharpe even said they were out head hunting.

Edit: also that roughing the kicker call was pretty small, the defender missed him and already landed on the ground then the kicker fell on him.
