When did people assume that every single video needs to have subtitles you can't turn off, even if in English? I don't get it. I mean, is everyone going deaf? Sorry, I digress.

Raider hubbub seems to think Klingsbury was pushing the Raiders to trade up to draft Caleb Williams (who he coached at USC), but Talesco and/or Pierce weren't interested in throwing all their marbles into that hat, so no signatures met paper. There's also talk that Eric Biemeny is so very close to being fired by Washington that the Raiders want to hire him more than anyone. This is possible. The other is that Klint Kubiak, the QB guy who has guided Purdy in SF is the guy, but teams can't talk to him until Monday. Who knows?

Here's a link to extended highlights of the Senior Bowl. Spencer Rattler looked decent. Bo Nix looked okay. Some solid defensive play by both sides, but nothing really stood out. Game was honestly hard to watch at times.

I'll digress with you: YouTube already has a button to click if you want/need subtitles so why would creators embed subtitles?
Sometimes the creator subtitles tells a joke or story that YouTube subtitles doesn’t properly portray.

I remember watching some of Rattler's games at Oklahoma. He was a 5-star & the  top QB recruit coming out of Arizona. He had a phenominal RS FR year where he was projected as a future top 5 pick. Then came Caleb Williams who beat him out the following year & off to South Carolina goes Rattler. At SC, he hasn't performed anything close to that one season at OK (his QB composite modeling score dropped considerbly at SC). He's considered a 3rd rd pick at best.

OTOH, Nix is considered 1st rd material. In fact, one mock has the  Broncos taking Nix:

I have been a longtime fan of NFL Films, there stuff is available all over now, including YouTube. Later when they explore the click bait of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce, hopefully nobody will be surprised by the way professional football players talk w one another when they get the chance. Pretty sure that 99.9999% of bad blood and conspiracy theories are from somewhere, someone other than the players themselves. Like everyone else, I see and hear things.. and in the past few years, most of it is from Aaron Rodgers!! I can almost guarantee that if Mother McCaffrey and Taylor Swift should cross paths, there will be laughing, smiling, hugs or handshakes.

Luke Getsy? The guy who was supposed to develop Justin Fields into a star QB and basically failed? The OC who was canned because the Bears offense sucked, was predictable, couldn't pass, and could only barely run the ball (mostly because of Fields legs)? That Getsy? Talk about a steep drop off from Klingsbury. Even a drop from interim OC Bo Hardagee if you ask me. Here's what the Chicago media had to say about Getsy.

Yes, they obviously thought the Kingsbury deal was a done thing. This sounds more like settling for what's left over. Surely there are others better who still don't have a job ?

Getsy does seem an uninspiring appointment but maybe not surprising given what the Raiders can offer. He did have a couple of interviews with the Saints. Not sure I see much of a drop off from Kingsbury though - just replace Fields with the even more highly-touted Murray and you've basically got the same bio. The Eagles interviewed him (KK) but you would have to assume they preferred Kellen Moore FWIW

Mike MacDonald to the Seahawks. I think this is a good move by Seattle.
Yeah, big shoes to fill but probably the right move. They go from the oldest HC to the youngest. They obviously wanted him badly because he gets a 6 year deal and reportedly the highest paid 1st time HC. MacDonald will continue to call plays on defense, the choice of OC will be key

I am thinking about doing some bets on Sunday.. $5 dollar bill, small paper w the bet and everyone is in w no extra money.
What time will Doritos run out? What time will beer cooler need restock? When will the first Don Julio expire and require opening another?
Because only 3 Americans, how long into the game until someone mentions that Taylor Swift plays a role in the outcome.. may not even happen.

That's not too far fetched, to be honest! I lived in Nevada for some years. I saw the same story over and over. Come to gambling mecca's, go home with just enough gas money to get back. There's a reason why casinos are hugely profitable gigantic monstrosities all lit up like they are, and it's not from getting better reviews for room stays on Yelp.

If the Raiders don't at least interview Bienemy they are fools. Of course, the Raiders have a long, long history of following up good decisions with bad ones. Over and over for 20 years now. In this case it could be the good (firing McDaniels and hiring Pierce as HC), with the bad hiring Getsy instead of Bienemy, and worse: Trading to get Fields. Getsy and Fields would cement the Raider offense to mediocrity. If the Raiders defense overperformed last year, this offense would put even more strain on that. The team could go from 8-9 to back to 6-11. Aiden O'Connell may not be the future QB for the Raiders, but his passing numbers were as good as Fields, and better the last four games of the season. Fields can run, but running QBs don't last long in this league. Only ones that develop as a passing-first QB, and even Lamar struggled when facing a top defense in KC. Despite the lure of a dual-threat QB, it's a passing league, with the ability to run effectively (the way Mahomes, Allen, Purdy do) as needed, only when that's the last option, is how QBs actually run successfully. But no one thinks of Mahomes as a running QB, let alone speaks of him as a "dual threat".

Is it even possible now to watch anything on ESPN that doesn't have a part of the show designated to betting ? Then the commercials start and every commercial break is flooded with commercials re different betting agencies. they even have arguments on ESPN about which team should be the favourite etc............Then you have the internet advertising on every commercial break. it became so crazy during Covid that with many of the major world sports in limbo and not active, people from all over the world were betting on state grade soccer and tennis matches in Australia and Eastern Europe and local horse races and snooker games ! There was some evidence later on of crime syndicate involvement..............who would have thought............
