I'll be really surprised if Tua doesn't end up on IR (out at least 4 games).

49ers will be fine. As good as McCaffrey is, the OL does most of the work, and their D looked quite good.

Some thoughts on Sunday's games:

SF@MIN - Curious what Darnold and the Vikings can do against a real team.
SEA@NE - Could be low scoring, grinding game.
NO@DAL - This could be very interesting. Both teams won by blowout last week and looked good.
CLE@JAX - I wonder how Watson will play, and be received by fans, and if the Browns collapse.
TB@DET - Detroit didn't play clean last week, but played tough, and gritted it out. I'd be surprised if TB can upend them.
LV@BAL - Raiders could manage almost no offense against Chargers. This game could be 29-3 if that happens.
CIN@KC - Let's see if the Bengals really have anything worth showing. I'll still take KC by two scores.

Don't see Kansas losing. Vikings and 49ers should be an interesting one. 49ers haven't beaten the Vikings at home for 30 years ! Darnold was under no pressure at all last week. The 49ers defense should do better. Detroit and Tampa could be one of the games of the week. Raiders probably picked the wrong time to play the Ravens ! Watson needs to show more this week against the Jags.

Same here. I honestly don't know the Bengals were shafted, but it sure was a close call. I guess I'd rather be lucky than good. And KC is both.

Very impressed by the Saints. 22 yards per completion for Derek Carr!!! As someone who watched Carr for years, he always did better with a stable HC and especially OC, which the Raiders rarely had. Both Dennis Allen and Klint Kubiak are exactly what Carr needs. He also said on Gruden's YT channel he both studied more, and worked out more than he has in some time. Dallas D looked surprisingly whipped.

Terrific win for Tampa. Terrific win for Arizona! Rams sure miss Arnold. Browns defense stayed alive! Watson was a game manager, but in some ways this is what he needed to be.

Tua, and other Dolphins may have thought little of Brian Flores, but he job as the Vikings DC cannot be understated. McCaffrey or not, the SF offense put up yards, but was constantly playing from behind.

I last saw the Raider-Raven game when Baltimore was up by 10. What a comeback! Big difference from last week is Minshew just let the ball rip, let Adams, Mayer, Myers fight for it. Brock Bowers is an absolute animal! And he's just 21!!!

Finally for Nomad - Sean Payton is an idiot for expecting Bo Nix to completely carry the offense the way he did. He must think Nix already is Drew Brees. He's setting Nix up to fail. To Justin Fields credit, a second mistake free game. Yes, he's basically a game manager, but he's playing smarter and more controlled than he ever was in Chicago. Big respect to Mike Tomlin. His teams always come to play. Currently sole possession of 1st place, and already 2 games up on Cincy and Baltimore.

That was a poorly coached game by Payton. They didn't look prepared at all. 0-3 in the red zone, 2 turnovers, zero TDs & 124 penalty yards. Payton has got to be one of the most overrated coaches in the league. Even with Nix at the helm this was a winnable game.

Credit Pittsburgh for a great game on the road. Dominating defense. Solid performance by Fields & like you said, he's playing smarter & more controlled. Zero turnovers, 146 team rushing yards & a TOP of 32 mins. I wonder if Tomlin will name Fields as the permanent starter & we'll have to get use to seeing Wilson holding the clipboard on the sidelines for the remainder of the season?

On the funny side of things; The next Payton Manning & the next Brett Favre are both 0-2. Lol.

Chiefs and Bills have to be happy Bengals and Ravens are 0-2.

Bad loss for the Ravens.

Bucs at Lions was a good back and forth but I think Lions should have kicked the field goal instead of going for it. Down by 1 with 3 timeouts is better than down by 4 with 0 or 1 with how the game is going.

Bengals at Chiefs ending can go either way, I just have a hard time saying that the defender is early when the ball smacks him in the face at the height of his jump. When is the defender supposed to fight for the ball, he has every right to it. Otherwise Chiefs are happy, stinks about Brown and I wonder if Rice will ever get suspended.

Saints straight destroyed the Cowboys.

Bad weekend for chain crews, two passed out, one fell on his head.

SEA with a win! They still have work to do, but a win is a win. When Charb wasn't getting any yards on the ground they should have plugged in the 3rd/4th backs to see if they could get it going. Charb fought for hard yards late though.

Darnold/MN?! NOLA?! AZ?! Not expected by me.

Quote of the week: "Josh puked on the ball." after GB center puked on the ball before snapping it.

Sloppy night game.

I personally love to see the trend of blocked points and punts!! Adds something great to the game.
Chargers aren't terrible, nice!!
Most games were excellent, enjoyed seeing some competition instead of blowouts. San Francisco wearing earplugs for most of the game, couldn't concentrate on snap count, mental implosion. Purdy threw and completed too many risky passes.
KC certainly not fantastic, turnovers and defensive points kept them in a game they should not have been in..
And to anyone who asked on TV, no there is no such thing as an equal replacement player for Pacheco or McCaffrey..
Trevor Lawrence got really rattled!!
Arizona is plain lucky!!
Should be a game show in Denver.. Who to blame next!!?
Jets ..blah..Giants ouch..
Geno Smith over 300 yards

He's bordering on being a total bust at this point. 2-17 in his career. This weekend against I'd say an average D (Chargers) the Panthers put up only 159 yards, but were so out of rhythm they also had nine penalties for 90 yards. The net here is 69 yards of productivity, in the entire game. You'd think they were playing against the 1985 Bears.

Jay Gruden said he looks small, and plays small. Jay was trying to be nice, but when asked what to do, he had no suggestions. Basically bench him, play someone else, hope maybe you see something that makes you think he can step up. Or just get ready to draft someone new when you can.

Robert Ziglinsky, the USA Today football writer is basically saying he's a bust, with a clip showing a horrible sack he needlessly took. Newsweek (of all places) had a good article on why he's basically a bust, saying it was a huge mistake to draft him. FanSided has an article up about the Panthers next steps (as in how and where to find another QB). Colin Cowherd (don't always agree with his opinions) has called him a bust after just the Saints game, and this one was worse. He basically tossed Bryce into the bin of all the past highly drafted QBs who never get a second contract.

JTO's QB camp channel which goes into pretty deep analysis on a lot of QB play, pointed out numerous problems Bryce has. Like having to jump to throw some passes, or having to take extra steps to see through and or throw over or around the line. Even his footwork is at times off. Last year JTO cut him some slack as most receivers were just not getting open, and there was sketchy protection, and he was a total rookie. But the Panthers signed two starting guards, plus a tackle, plus another WR, opening the pocketbook to do so. Now this year on almost ever play at least one receiver has been open enough, but Bryce isn't seeing him, or making errant throws. JTO was almost puzzled at how bad Bryce is playing most of the time.

Making this worse, CJ Stroud continues to look like a superstar.

Chiefs game was entertaining but the Bengals will be disappointed with the final result.

Raiders had a good win. Bowers played well.

The Cowboys looked bad. Kamara ran all over them and Dak had a forgettable game save a for a few good throws .

The Cardinals were much too good for the Rams. Murrays best game for a while. Rams are in trouble. They could be down 0-3 after next week and they have injuries to important players and their run defense is terrible. They started badly last season but came good.

Flores defense was too much for Purdy and his O line for the second year in a row. Aiyuk looks rusty as does Trent Williams after missing training camp and they now have Deebo out as well as CMC for multiple games. At least their run game is working. Darnold's past two games have been his best for a few seasons.

Tampa game was entertaining. Baker played well. Goff was patchy but Tampa were the better team on both sides of the ball.
