This is why I have said we need to have two bye weeks, with the only way a team plays on a Thursday, is if it comes after a bye. This makes total sense, but the NFL (and TV networks) don't like the idea of a watered down Sunday with less games.

49ers were done when they got off the airplane in Buffalo. This looked a bit like that playoff game last year where Miami played in freezing KC, and the Chiefs later said they knew they had the game won on the first series. Some players did okay (like CMC), but the entire Bills team just looked comfortable in the snow and cold.

My guess is Azeez Al-Shaair will be suspended the rest of the season for his hit on Lawrence. Basically a forearm to the head while he was sliding, right when the league is really trying to avoid not only concussions, but head hits. At first I thought Lawrence may have slid late trying to get a first down, but replays show he did not and slid well before that. He was about 5 yards away from being hit. Al-Shaair did nothing to let up, and actually brought his arm up to hammer Lawrence. This of course resulted in a brawl, more ejections and I'm sure we'll be seeing many fines. Lawrence was out for a bit and I imagine he will be placed on IR and his season is likely over.
Yeah Bills looked like they were coasting especially after their run defense adjusted and CMC had gone out. Hopefully they show up in the playoffs. Dunno about the Ravens, I'm in two minds about them. Think the Eagles have a better shot or GB. Al Shair is going to be made an example of and it was reckless at the least then he made it worse by mouthing off. Greenlaw had a bad habit of that but learned to lower his tackles and also stop with the stupid penalties. Steelers game sounded crazy, didn't see it. Yes the two byes was always a good idea especially with the longer seasons Many expect 18 game seasons very soon.

Wilson was polite enough to spot the Bengals a touchdown and still beat them by 6. Bengals defense is absolutely terrible and reminds me of the 7-9 Saints. I wouldn’t be surprised if Burrow, Higgins, and Chase are all gone. Wilson played decently and had a great deep throw to Pickens but they couldn’t get anything out of the drive due to Pickens taunting them to punt instead of be set up at the 20 I believe it was. Taunted twice during the game, Steelers always getting good receivers that start causing drama.

Ravens had a tough loss to the Eagles. They look set to be the third seed and it’ll be hard to go into Buffalo or KC.

Jets could be looking at another head coach with talk of benching Rodgers again, who played poorly and is still passing the blame along.

Good win by Bucs.

Lions vs Packers should be a really good game. That will be for the division.

Also, the Seahawks vs Cardinals could be for the nfc west division.

Bills are just crushing it right now. If they play the Chiefs in the AFC Championship, they would be the favorites. KC could of course improve and peak at the right time, but in current form, Buffalo would need to drop their level/choke to lose in that matchup. Just my two cents.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Burrow, Higgins, and Chase are all gone.
Wait. You mean the Bengals would trade them? Or bench them? Or they would want out? I don't see that. Their DC, Lou Anarumo could be fired tomorrow however. I also expect to see a near total overhaul on their defense after the season. First team in NFL history to have 4 games where they have scored 33 or more points, and lost all four games. Unreal.

Did you see the presser?! Even Rodgers seemed to think it was possible, maybe warranted. He was just terrible after a first couple drives. Two pretty passes to Adams, who had a grand total of 12 yards receiving. Unreal. Apparently five times the Jets had the ball late in games, and are 0-5 in those games.

Woody can't go be ambassador to Antarctica soon enough. Let Christopher take over, cut Aaron, cut Adams, Lazard and a few other guys, and hire Rex back. Come on everyone, say it! MJFA - Mudgefuh! Make (the) Jets Fun Again.

People are sleeping on the Vikings too, they are 10-2.

Beat them two weeks ago, just stuffing the Cards offense, but it was in Seattle. If they win in AZ they are in the drivers seat in the division, but have a tougher schedule.

Maybe. I see the same impressive Bills team you do, and it's been argued (even by the Chiefs) that Buffalo is "built to beat them", but until they actually do beat KC in the playoffs, especially in KC, it's all just speculation.

The Ravens do indeed look like a team that's going to again look impressive one week in the playoffs, then look flat and lose the next. They just don't look like they are going into either KC or Buffalo and winning.

SEA with the win!

More later...
A win is a win. BUT, the coaching was terrible! The SEA O line gets pushed back on nealry vevery play, and the RBs get hit behind the line on almost every play because of it...yet they keep running even on 4th! WTH?! (shockinly they still had about 80 yars on the ground)! If it wasn't for NYJ bailing them out with bad D and silly mistakes... Williams pick 6 was awesome! He is playing well.

AR: Remember the "Bitter Beer Face" Keystone beer commercials of yester year? That's Aaron! After almost every play he has a squinced up face.

BUF looks solid! DET, PHI, MIN, KC all solid. GB and PIT too?

Al-Shair should get a five game time out IMO.

Lawrence was out for a bit and I imagine he will be placed on IR and his season is likely over.
He needs to pack it in for the remainder of the season & hit the reset button for next year (let "noodle arm" Jones finish the season. Lol).

The hit by Al-Shaair was illegal & should be punished appropriately. But I don't feel sorry for Lawrence & I'm not crying in my beer for one of the highest paid QBs in the league. This is another big man who spends some time in weight room (6-6, 220). He'd be a "Megatron" receiver in the league - about the same size of Tee Higgins & not far behind Mike Evans. So, we have a good size QB getting pasted by an average size LB & it's like the end of world. Lol.

And I find it funny that all Pederson did during the post-game media address was whine & cry about the hit on Lawrence & failed to address the elephant in the room - how bad the Jaguars suck this year! In case he hasn't noticed but the Jaguars are sitting at 2-10 tied with the Raiders & Giants for the worse record in the league! And I'll remind everyone that is a team described by their owner during the preseason as the best team assembled...ever in the history of the franchise! (Jags have been around since 1995).

Best chance at winning a higher draft pick maybe. Like I said, Rodgers, Adams, Lazard, Ulbrich, Hackett will all be gone. Woody will be elsewhere. Christopher will hire Rex Ryan back. The Jets will struggle for a bit, but they will play as a team under Rex. Now? They're just a bunch of freelancers, mercenaries.

The Jets aren't in the greatest cap situation, but Rodgers, Adams and Lazard are 3 of the 5 highest paid players on the roster. Cutting them results in dead money, but also frees up quite a bit of cash to rebuild, which is necessary.

I miss the good old days when it would snow many December games in Denver. It was like 50 today in Denver. :confused_old:

Higgins is most likely gone after this year. They’d trade Chase and Burrow if both are done with the team and if next season goes like this I don’t think we’d see them both suit up for 2026 season. Could even see them play out their contract and leave. The defense has her terrible and hasn’t gotten better.

We will see how he acts tomorrow on Pat’s show but the interim walked back his statement of potentially benching Rodgers. Jets just have to ride it out and say goodbye at the end of the season. Geno, Darnold, and Wilson (indirectly) all beat the Jets.

I remember that blizzard game back in 1984 - it was rare major snowstorm that hit Denver on Oct 15th. A colleague of mine who had season tickets didn't want to go & offered them to me. I didn't have an appropriate vehicle to venture out to the stadium, so I had to pass (snow removal was terrible back then - nothing like it is now). Btw, it's going to be in the 60s tomorrow. Lol

Broncos pull it off in a much closer game that I thought. Congratulations to Winston's generosity for the two TD passes to Bronco players. Lol. Is this guy terrible or what? Denver's D was not playing well at all & he basically lost the game for them. One pick 6 is bad enough in any game, but FFS...two? Lol.

Denver's D was definitely off. Jeudy ripped the secondary for 9 grabs averaging a 26 yds per catch! Missing Riley Moss (knee) had more of an impact than I realized. Offensively, Broncos did just enough to win though Nix threw two picks & looked vulnerable at times. Nice rushing performance by scatback Jaleel McLaughlin getting most of the carries.

Payton has got to fix some things if this team expects to make and win a playoff game. They were outplayed by Cleveland. If it wasn't for Winston's generosity, the Broncos lose this one. Broncos head into the bye week then play Indy in a big one.

I think the Broncos are on their way to the playoffs. They could even end up with a better record than the Ravens.

Higgins wanted to be traded when they wouldn't pay him So he was franchise tagged. A few teams would like him but for the right price.

Shootout in Denver ! The eye surgery didn't work for Winston although he was making some nice throws until the picks.McLaughlin looked good so did Juedy and Njoku. Haven't watched Nix much this season but he looks pretty good. Payton seems happier these days.............I'm sure the owner is as well.........

Never fails for the 49ers this season. Top two RB's in CMC and Mason both go on IR. Givens tore a pectoral so he's done, Williams and Bosa not improving yet, so doubtful this week. CMC won't require surgery but done for the season. As for the game against the Bears, the odds are good that one of these teams has a major f up in the last 30 seconds to lose the game...........

Classic Jameis Winston. Bombs and darts, and a few horrible throws that cost them the game. Few QBs are more fun/stressful, hot/frozen to watch.

Let's partly blame Bruce "no risk-it, no biscuit" Arians. ;)
I keep forgetting he was a #1 OA. A big, strong QB built like a LB that has a rocket arm (he was also a pitcher in college baseball).

Where he does he go from here? Can he be trusted as a starter or is he destined to finish out his career as a backup?

Winston is still better than Deshaun, any day. I think they ride 2025 with Winston at QB, and look to 2026 to draft the replacement. I doubt there will be anyone available in FA the Browns will want to roll with. Names like Gardner Minshew, Tre Lance, Mac Jones, Justin Fields, Drew Lock...Aaron Rodgers. o_O

I have a strong feeling the Vikings are going to do all they can to keep Darnold, or I'd put him at the top of that list.

I agree 100% with Brady. I see a couple possible solutions in rule changes: 1) Fake slides, faking going out of bounds then running down the sidelines, or even late slides, are just like intentional grounding - a 10 yard penalty and loss of down from the previous line of scrimmage. 2) Eliminate the rule about sliding. If he's going to run, the QB better get used to just dropping to the ground in the fetal position fast when a LB or safety is barrelling at him.

I thought they would throw the book at Al-Shaair. It was the forearm that did it. He was flat out wrong to do that, and even admitted it. But I also realize it happened in a split second, and I don't feel a bit sorry for Lawrence either. He could retire tomorrow from football and be set for life as a multi-millionaire.

I watched the Atlanta-Chargers game. This was the first game where it was obvious why Atlanta drafted Michael Penix, and it may be time to start him. Cousins looks aged almost overnight. His arm strength is not what it was even last year, and he simply cannot move well, or throw on the move. He's not much better than Aaron Rodgers. Atlanta has lost 3 in a row, and 4 out of 5 games. Headed to Minnesota next week.

Grab your popcorn and embrace the crazy.
