I can't see Bill B coaching a college team either.
I've heard he's interested in the North Carolina job. An the AD seems to like old coaches - Mack Brown coached there from 2019-2024, age 68 through 73. I think Bilichick has got to find a HC job somewhere - he's engaged to that twentysomething former NFL cheerleader that he's got to keep happy. Lol.

You're just jealous.

His name I think generates more interest from fans, than NFL owners and GMs. A few teams will interview him. But I don't see him at the top of everyone's list the way some fans do.

I read another article about Hutchinson, that his leg break was so "clean" and not a compound fracture, that he's rapidly healing. I think the other article said he could be back by the NFC championship game even. Still, just to suit up for the SB, if the Lions get there, would be something amazing.

Matt Hassleback is your answer.

Very paradoxical decisions. In one viewpoint, his offense is so potent, he's confident he can get the yards. But on the opposite, his defense is so banged up, and the GB offense is good, he shouldn't expect his defense to hold them - which is what I think led to his late decision.

I think he was joking. Eric couldn't even get an OC job in the NFL during the off-season last year. I was hoping the Raiders would at least interview him for OC, but they didn't. It's both surprising, and I'm sure frustrating for him, that he's not at least an OC in the NFL. You can easily say Mahomes and Reid are the Chiefs. But at the same time, their offense was much more potent when Eric was OC than the way they now beat teams by death of a thousand papercuts, even if Andy always called the plays. And is Eric really to blame for the mess in Washington last year? I heard some players thought he was kind of strict, compared to the laid back Dan Quinn, but I've never heard anyone say he's a bad coach. I mean, crap, the Raiders hired Luke Getsy, and the Jets hired Nathanial Hackett. And what about Press Taylor with the Jaguars? John Kafta with the Giants? You can't possibly convince me Eric is worse than those guys.
“Eric and UCLA mutually parted ways today as previously planned. He’s still getting paid by the Commanders. After interviewing for head coaching jobs last year, he wanted to stay active and busy. So, he decided to go help out Deshaun Foster, who is like his little brother, at UCLA as opposed to sitting out a year. The plan was always to return to the NFL in 2025, and he’s looking forward to the opportunities ahead.”

One of the best comments I've heard about this.
A funny video of Rex Ryan going crazy about QBs running in a bubble, doing things he considers illogical and dangerous. Once you establish yourself as a runner, act like one, teams have used colored jerseys to symbolize don't tackle this guy during practice, college through ,pro so maybe quarterbacks are feeling like they have some kind of immunity from getting crushed.
And for all the attention of Trevor Lawrence, Josh Allen gets it from both sides, many saying he should slide, avoid getting tackled hard, other side praising him for his toughness and willing to take hard hits for extra yards.
Probably coaches, owners and agents wish he played with less risk .
I used to feel really, really uneasy watching Kordell Stewart and RG3 doing designed plays were it was guaranteed that they would take a shot.
I watch with trepidation each time Taysom Hill gets the ball

Josh Allen is just a tough football player. He's a throwback to the old days. Fanzio characterizes him as "Elway on steroids" With his size & athleticism, if Allen didn't have a gift for throwing the ball, he'd play TE. Very seldom does Allen slide - that's just not his style. And he'll put the wood a lot of LBs & DBs making them look bad (Allen has got a nice stiff arm when he's running toward the sidelines). Allen has only missed a few games due to injury in his 7 yr career with one documented concussion (he's played through some injuries to his non-throwing arm). And this is a guy with 4000 yds rushing & 59 TDs who wasn't a dual-threat QB in college but played in a pro-style offense at Wyoming.

I'm surprised how short that video is. There must be triple the amount of plays they could have shown. You are right, if he couldn't throw the ball well, he'd make a good TE. Or a Taysom Hill like player. I thought that's what a team should have done with Blake Bortles, who lasted just six seasons in the NFL at QB. He was about Josh same size, bigger than Hill. Bigger than Terrelle Pryor who converted to slot receiver, and threw a couple trick pass plays too. I guess Blake just didn't play with the same power, the same determination. Maybe just too slow of foot?

Interesting games this week:

CLE@PIT - This game should be closer than it appears on paper. The Browns have not given up on the season, and it's a classic division rivalry. I expect both QBs to struggle.
JAX@TEN - Both teams have been junk. Will Levis slowly playing better each week.
ATL@MIN - If the Falcons lose this, and Cousins doesn't play well, don't be surprised if Atlanta moves forward with Penix in the future. Falcons play Raiders and Giants after this, which would be great for Penix.
CAR@PHI - Everything says the Eagles should win this going away. But they are playing like the Chiefs, and winning close games (mostly with Barkley) while losing on the stat board. The Panthers, and Young, are looking more solid by the week.
LV@TB - Raiders showed fight last week with Aiden O'Connell. And played their 2nd best game of the season. Can they go into Tampa and win? I doubt it.
SEA@AZ - A rematch of a key game a couple weeks ago where the Seattle D just stifled Murray. Winner here moves into the driver's seat for the division.
CHI@SF - This is a game where the Bears are ripe to win, and SF ripe to lose. Expect the Bears to play very hard for coach Thomas Brown.
BUF@LAR - This is another game that could be closer than one thinks. Are the Bills looking ahead to Detroit?
LAC@KC - I expect another game that is very close, with KC winning late. I would pick the Chargers, but I just don't think they have the offense to score enough. Herbert has thrown just 1 int. but has not been getting them in the end zone. Ranked 24th overall in TD%, and worse in red zone efficiency.

Browns to beat Steelers in a chaotic game.

Titans to shade the Jags.

Falcons and Vikings could be one of the games of the week. Falcons need the win more. If the Falcons get their run game going I think they can edge it.

Panthers have improved but the Eagles will have more big plays.

Vegas and Tampa should be competitive but the Tampa run game has improved and they have more to play for.

Hawks and Cards will be a battle possibly for the division . Hawks need the win more as they have the tougher schedule and the Hawks have kept the Cards offense in check in recent times. Hawks in a close one.

Bears should beat a sliding 49ers who have CMC, Mason, Williams and Bosa out. They get Hufanga back. Bears have been unlucky lately and also badly coached . Both teams have a habit of finding ways to lose. 49ers in a tight one if their run defense shows up and Purdy can kickstart a struggling offense.

Rams will fight hard and like the 49ers, a loss will be the final nail in the coffin for the playoffs probably, but they do have an easier schedule than the Hawks. I don't see any of the NFC West teams winning out their remaining games which means it probably goes down to the final week. Bills have the better QB and should get it done.

Chargers in a close one over Kansas but they will need turnovers and good game from Herbert. Another loss for Kansas at the moment wouldn't surprise me and they made heavy weather of the games against the Panthers and Raiders. Chargers defense has been good. Kansas defense has slipped a little recently.

Wild game in LA. Some calls went against the Bills, but they also showed a real weakness in their pass defense, and unable to stop the Rams on 3rd down. The blocked punt was a killer too. If they couldn't stop the Rams passing game at all, how can they stop the Lions next week?

Eagles were lucky to beat Carolina. Like I posted before, they are kind of like the Chiefs of the NFC. Just somehow manage to win games they should lose. But unlike KC and Mahomes who can complete any throw, Hurts can't, his accuracy deep is poor. The Eagles can only beat teams by grinding. But they can grind.

Nice win for Seattle. Three tough games remain though. Packers, Vikings, and Rams (other game @CHI).

So much for SF fading away. Chicago looks like Eberflus never left! 49ers host the Rams next week.

Very impressive Viking team, and Sam Darnold playing like ice. 5 TDs! More picks and bad throws for Cousins. He's not just immobile, it's like his arm strength has dropped overnight. Falcons must start Penix the rest of the season.

Impressive win for Miami/collapse for the Jets. The more the game went on, the more you could predict the outcome.

The way the Saints lost to the Giants was almost predictable. If Carr broke his hand, that's it for his, and their season. Haener still second string QB, after Rattler benched after the bad loss to the Chargers over a month ago.

O'Connell hurt against Tampa, what may be a serious leg injury. That leaves the Raiders with Desmond Ridder, who started the season on the Cardinals practice squad, and Carter Bradley, an undrafted free agent who has only played a few downs in preseason, and looked overwhelmed. Raiders should re-sign Chase Garbers, at least to the practice squad if O'Connell is done.

Very entertaining game. Games like this make the NFL worth watching. Two high-octane offenses functioning at top efficiency- no turnovers nor sacks by either offense. And Josh Allen made NFL history - first player to pass for 3 TDs and run for 3 TDs in a regular season game. And over 400 yds total O for Allen. It would really be nice to see Allen get a SB title under his belt. I think that would get him into the HOF.

Seattle win again. They turned the corner with the win over the 49ers and they seem to have the answers to the Cards as the recent record is one sided. Huge win for the Rams. Looks like the Rams or Seattle for the NFC West at the moment. Good win for the 49ers. The Bears defense was woeful but the early losses killed the Niners. Seattle will want the 49ers to upset the Rams on Thursday as will the Cardinals. The Jets continue as is. Nice win for the Vikings. Sounds like Cousins is close to be being done. No one talking about the Vikings for the playoffs. We will see. Bills probably cost themselves a chance at the one seed unless the Chiefs stumble.

Is it a fracture to the tibia or fibula? Peirce won't say other than "it doesn't look good." The late shove didn't look that egregious and O'Connell just stumbled to the turf near the sideline. It's not like he was shoved out of bounds & crashed into the benches, storage canisters or something like that. So, it must be a freak accident or O'Connell has really weak bones. It was an unnecessary roughness penalty that wasn't called:

Well, with O'Connell done for the year & Ridder to finish the season, I think it's safe to say that the Raiders have a clear path to the #1 OA pick. Lol.

Here's the question for you Raider gurus: Will they take a QB with that pick or will they try to refurbish O'Connell and give him another chance?

Plenty of thick sculled Raider fans out there convinced the Raiders need to tank, so they can get Shedeur, and daddy will follow him to the Raiders and be the new coach, leading the team to the promised land. After all, Deion has helicoptered his son his entire life this far, why stop now? Seriously, there are a lot of people who think Shedeur is the best QB to come out of the draft since, oh, I don't know, Trevor Lawrence maybe.

Giants may actually be worse than the Raiders, and they need a QB too. Does Prime want to coach the Giants?

I'm personally a best player available kind of guy when it comes to the draft.

What's that old saying? I'd rather be lucky than good. Chiefs are the worst 12-1 team in history. They remind me of the 2020 Steelers, who started the season 11-0, only to lose in the 1st round of the playoffs.
No one talking about the Vikings for the playoffs.
No kidding. People are just ignoring their continued success. I think people are expecting them to falter, especially Darnold. But he made one clutch throw after another after another today, including some very long throws. Plus he was just deadly in the red zone. 22/28, 347, 5 TDs, and not a single pick. It didn't matter what the Falcons tried, coverage, blitzing, double teaming Jefferson, etc. In the second half alone he was 16 of 18 for 250 yards and 3 TDs, for a perfect 158.3 passer rating. Darnold looked like Tom Brady out there.

Vikings have just two losses. By 2 to the Lions, and a short week later by 10 to the Rams in LA on Thursday night. They have beaten Green Bay, SF, Houston, Arizona and now Atlanta. They are 4th overall in point differential, and have a very dynamic defense, with an offense capable of putting up plenty of points. They are going to be the team no division winner wants to face in the first round, and some wont want to face them in the WC. Assuming Detroit wins the division. Because if Buffalo beats Detroit, and both win out the rest of the way, the last game of the year will be the Vikings traveling to Detroit for all the marbles.

Draft the best player available was Mike Shanahan's philosophy & it worked real well until he drafted Cutler. Lol.

What can you say about the Chiefs - lady luck strikes again. Wright banks in the winning FG off the left upright. Chiefs lock up the division - 9th straight AFC West title.

Good hard hitting game. It had a playoff feel with the intensity out there. Injuries starting to mount on both sides though. Statistically, the game was dead even in almost every category. Turnover free football for both clubs. Excellent strategy by Reid on the last possession chewing up clock & playing for the FG. The key 3rd down completion in the red zone from the Gunslinger to Kelce put the dagger in the Chargers.

Lord I thought not only were the Dolphins about to let Rodgers get his first 300+ yard game since like 2020 or 2021 but lose to the Jets as well. They keep their very slim playoff hopes alive.

Bills bungled their chance at the one seed, I still think they’ll lose against the Lions and they need Chiefs to drop 3 games which looks impossible. Bills can go into Arrowhead and win especially with the kicker injuries, defense just might get eaten up by the Chiefs. On this game; the defense, poor tackling, and punt turnover were back breakers, but going for the sneak instead of throwing the ball and burning the timeout was a bad call. Heck in their position I’d have gone hurry up and qb sneaked again. Using the timeout killed their chance of a comeback.

Chiefs keep finding new ways to win. My Fiance, the chiefs fan, thought Chargers will win at the 4 min mark and I told her Chiefs will most likely win by 2 after Kelce picks up a big down. Chargers had poor tackling and kept trying to force a fumble. Chiefs are almost guaranteed the one seed barring a 2015 or 2018 Patriots collapse.

At this rate Rodgers is going to have to go back to the "darkness retreat " for some more soul searching..........although he'd probably settle for a few more wins............

As some dude said on ESPN. the Chiefs are the most annoying team in modern sports...........

What makes it worse is the amount of commercials they have and that you seem them even when not watching anything NFL related. The Patriots didn’t even have that going for them. What was crazy last night is on some show after the game, Rob Parker was calling the Chiefs the luckiest team of all time yet according to him Brady is the Luckiest of all Time not the GOAT.

All long time Chargers fans knew what was going to happen.
Things can go wrong as players pick up Gatorade to dump on their winning coach!! As a Charger fan even as they run into the tunnel after a win, you fear that something was overlooked at Chargers can still lose the game w no time on the clock!!
Pretty sure that I can quote Mahomes before the game " we have to do whatever it takes to win, doesn't matter if you win by 2 points, we have to find a way to win " they did.

Pick a year

It definitely gets real old. I honestly didn't find the game very interesting. Close, but rather dull. Very predictable.
Bills can go into Arrowhead and win especially with the kicker injuries, defense just might get eaten up by the Chiefs. Agree completely there. Tom was pointing that out at the ending, and he was right. That doesn't mean the Bills were going to win, but it would have given them a real chance. The issues they had you pointed out. They can't make the same mistakes, play the same defensive game the played against the Rams, and expect Allen and the offense to bail them out.

I honestly don't know what to think about the Chiefs. They could get beaten in the first round of the playoffs by a team that's playing well, Or they could run the table, win every game by 1 point late. Both are possible. I'm just honestly tired of them. I think what indeed makes it worse is the endless flow of commercials Mahomes, Reid, Kelce are in. Not only are they featured in Chiefs games, they have plenty of air time when you're watching other games. On top of that you have announcers like Cris Collinsworth who is lovestruck by Mahomes, and his buddy Mike Tirico isn't much different, talking so frequently about the three-peat. Pile on the Nick Wright's of the world constantly talking about how great the Chiefs are, and it becomes beyond tiresome.

Good point on whether or not the Chiefs lose in the 1st round (especially if they get the #1 seed & may be a little rusty) or lady luck follows them into the playoffs & they run the table.

Of course, the Gunslinger, Reid, Kelce, etc, are all constantly going to be in the limelight with all of those guys future Hall of Famers, and Mahomes a possible GOAT candidate. But I think what is not recognized is Reid's ability to draft players that make an immediate impact.

Start with Pacheco - arguably the hardest hitting RB in the league. At 215, he's pound for pound one the strongest backs in the league (27 reps in bench press), runs a sizzling 4.37 & can catch the ball out of the backfield with the best of them. And Reid snatches him in the 7th rd! How did other teams miss on him? Just because he played his college ball at Rutgers & not some fancy-schmancy school like Alabama or Ohio St. Lol. Even Collingsworth noted during the game last night that the Chiefs are a different team with Pacheco back. His play last year both rushing & receiving was exemplary culminating with a solid SB performance. With Pacheco, they have a dangerous running attack & receiving threat out of the backfield.

And what can you say about Xavier Worthy? I thought at 165 lbs, he'd be too light to play in the NFL. But the fastest man in the NFL is not only starting but contributing as Mahomes' 2nd leading receiver averaging almost 12 yds a catch! And with that blazing speed, he spreads defenses out creating more open passing lanes. And there's the hard hitting Nick Bolton - another Reid pick - who's the impetus of the defense & a leader out there. So, it's not just Mahomes, but they have some seriously good supporting talent with guys that are being plugged into Reid's system right away.

Speaking of Pacheco, this is pretty cool - you don't see this very often anymore:
