Lions imploding, but it's not over. If Washington is up by more than 8 at the 2 minute warning, then it's pretty much over. Very impressed by Washington's offense. Quinn has outcoached Campbell. Klingsbury has outcoached Glenn.

I also think Brady was right at halftime. Detroit needed to change their defense, blitz way less, and play more zone. They did the opposite.

Shout out to Nomad for last year's draft pointing out Daniels, who I worried didn't have enough muscle to be a dual threat. He's been more of a passer, but he's done everything, and then some.

No chance Detroit does anything significant here. They just don’t have it on defense and their offense hasn’t done as much in the 2nd half. Even if they had a full half to go, they don’t have enough with the way they’ve played.

Game is over. At best it will be 45-39.

I'm hoping Washington beats whoever they play next week. I'm sort of hoping for the Rams tomorrow, but the Super Bowl I do not want to see is a KC-Eagles rematch. That would be the worst. I doubt I'd even watch it. Of course KC has to beat either Buffalo or Baltimore.
The NFC north totally imploded these past two weeks.

A 15-2 team, a 14-3, and a 11-6 team all one and done in one playoff. Ouch.
Yep. Good observation. Both Detroit and Green Bay can point to injuries, but the fact is, both teams also got flat out beat.

Volatile is right.

Commanders have proven they can beat the Eagles. And if they get out ahead of them, I don't believe the Eagles can come back and beat them (or anyone good).

A Commanders-Rams game could look a lot like this one.

I honestly didn't think anyone could come into Detroit and win. But let's also not lose sight of the fact that FIVE turnovers killed the Lions. Can't do that in the playoffs.

I had a feeling for a while, especially with the injuries on defense piling up, that if Detroit started turning the ball over and they weren’t on fire offensively, they would be in trouble, and that trouble came today.

As I already mentioned, their defense looked good against Minnesota and they deserved the #1 seed. Unfortunately, your offense can only carry you so far. You have to make stops and take care of the ball.

I wonder what this does to Goff going forward. He’s obviously not going to get traded, but this will hurt his and the team’s morale.

IMO I think the Lions aren’t going anywhere. They’ll be back to contend for a couple more seasons, at least, but it was a bad game for them.

Credit to the Commies for going in one of the toughest places to play and showed little to no fear. They just kept coming.

Wow! Upset of the playoffs! Washington is going to the championship game for the first time since 1991!

This is crazy - a 4-13 team last year completely turning it around playing in the NFCCG with a rookie QB. I knew Daniels was really good at LSU but I didn't think he'd be this successful in his rookie year. Just give him ROY...and Quinn COY.

It's looks like Detroit's defensive game plan was to contain Daniels' running threat based on how effective he was against TB. But he then hits them with precision passing for 299 yds & a couple of scores. And the 5 turnovers killed Detroit while Wash played turnover-free football.

The one smart thing that Washington did with Daniels is let him play in his college offense - the RPO spread with all formations in shotgun. They didn't try to force him into a pro-style offense. He looks very comfortable in that offense & scheme.

Thanks. I had him as the best QB in the draft - ahead of Williams. That was easy because he won everything; Heisman, First Team All-American, Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award, Manning Award & Davey O'Brien Award. You name it - he won it (how Williams was drafted ahead of him is beyond me. Lol). However, I didn't think he would be this successful in his rookie year turning a 4-13 crap team to 12-5 winners & a trip to the NFCCG. What's so impressive about him is his maturity, poise & leadership - he's playing like a veteran.

Yeah, he's a pretty lean guy at 6-4/210 & built more like a NBA point guard than the typical dual-threat QB. But that lanky body can run a 4.4 which is mind-boggling. He doesn't have a cannon like some of the other elites but he can make all the NFL throws, including a good deep ball, and posses great accuracy. His slight frame could be a problem over the years if he doesn't run out of bounds & slide more often as opposed to getting hit trying to fight for more yardage.

Next Gen Stats Insight for Commanders-Lions (via NFL Pro): Jayden Daniels completed 12 of 16 attempts against the blitz for 191 yards and a touchdown, the second-most passing yards against the blitz by a rookie in a game since 2016 (in the regular season or postseason).

NFL Research: The Commanders, who had gone 32 straight seasons without appearing in a Conference Championship Game, snapped that streak Saturday. The last time they went to the NFC Championship Game in the 1991 season, they defeated the Detroit Lions before going on to win Super Bowl XXVI versus the Buffalo Bills.
