After they no longer have OBJ or Landry.
Most people thought the momentum had swung to the Falcons but the media information is always a mixed bag of fact and conjectures...........expect the 49ers will want to get Jimmy's deal done done now........whether this will increase his value with a shrinking QB market remains to be seen.

If the Colts had made the playoffs, Wentz would still be there..........![]()
Could Family Ties Lead the Honey Badger to the Buccaneers? - Bucs Report
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers just lost a quality safety in Jordan Whitehead to the New York Jets. Several outlets immediately speculated that thebucsreport.com
TB reloading on defense, especially if they get Honey Badger
Colts might have been better staying with Wentz honestly over Baker if this happens.
At least Rodgers is now correct when he said he wasn’t going to be the highest paid playerMost guaranteed money on a single contract in NFL history: Deshaun Watson $230 million Aaron Rodgers: $150.7 million Josh Allen: $150 million Patrick Mahomes: $141.5 million Dak Prescott: $126 million

Now is Seattle going to get both Gardner and Baker? That'd be a pair.

They should arm wrestle for the privilege.............Now is Seattle going to get both Gardner and Baker? That'd be a pair.
I kid....or do I?
Juju is a good addition for them! They have to like Jimmy while still grooming Lance.

Source: Chiefs adding JuJu to offensive firepower
The Chiefs continue to provide weapons for QB Patrick Mahomes, reaching a one-year deal with former Steelers receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster, a source told ESPN.www.espn.com
Juju should elevate the offense and maybe stop them from having the inconsistency that they had this year but the defense isn’t getting better.
AFC North what about the AFC West ? I think the Browns overpaid but what do I know, I also thought Denver overpaid for Wilson. Looking at the AFC and NFC its little wonder Rodgers wants to stay put but now he's lost his go to receiver. The Raiders signings of Chandler Jones and Adams has been a coup for themThe question is, did the Browns give up too much to get Watson? If the team performs well the next 3 years, they are low draft picks. It's not that different of a strategy the Rams have done. Watson was nearly the MVP two years ago, and presuming he's close to that same level, he's better than Mayfield has ever shown. Baker may be better off elsewhere. Seattle and Indy sure make the most sense. Two QB-focused coaches. That AFC North is going to be a stout division. Cincy, Cleveland with all their talent, Baltimore, and a "rebuilding" Pittsburgh, who still has a very solid team, a great coach, and rarely has losing seasons.
While it caught most of us as a surprise with Adams going to the Raiders, insiders who looked at the contract numbers aren't shocked. Apparently Rodgers was aware it was very likely that Adams would move on and sign elsewhere. Rodgers may not be happy about it, but it's not like the rug was pulled out beneath him.
An early wild glimpse into the crystal ball tells me next year's superbowl is Buffalo vs. Tampa.![]()

Agree. Some thoughts:Yes, they paid too much... As we have bemoaned on this forum for years, the money has become grotesque, but that aside, teams who are willing to pay QBs like this can't afford to protect them or give them targets to throw to, nor have a D that can stop other teams...
Superbowl Champion Stafford is 13th on the $ list..
Yes the AFC West is like the NFC West now but maybe even more so with Wilson gone. although the NFC West still had three teams in the playoffs and if Wilson hadn't have been injured, possibly even a fourth team. As for contracts, Osweilers QB contract might be the worst of all time based on what he actually achieved before he retired. Obviously he was paid for what he might do and it never happened. Denver's QB carousel looked almost comical until the Wilson signing...........and you could argue that they lost on that deal as well.Agree. Some thoughts:
Stafford is "due" a contract extension. This is a problem as the Rams are working with a real restricted cap in the long term. They don't have a lot of dead money, but the next couple years it's going to be hard to pay for much of anything. They did just manage to sign Robinson (I'm assuming they lose OBJ), but if the Rams give Stafford big money, it's going to make the future even harder. They also lost Von Miller to Buffalo (yikes!), partly because they didn't have the cash the Bills had.
We saw this overpaid QB means you can't afford OL happen in Seattle with Russ' huge contracts. After their last SB trip and he started making big money, their OL lines have suffered for years now, even their defense, while still good, wasn't the same as the Legion of Doom. But Russ isn't the only one. Look what happened when Baltimore gave Joe Flacco huge money after his SB win. I thought at the time he was maybe "worth" it. Well, I think I said he needed to be paid like a top QB. I was wrong. They way, way overpaid. Then again, this doesn't compare to Brock Osweiller's contract with Houston. It was so bad, they dumped him, with several draft picks, to Cleveland, who then cut him. He ended up back in Denver, who got him cheap, while Cleveland paid the money, that counted as dead money against Houston when he was done. Remember when Seattle signed Matt Flynn? They got him at a "deal" price of $9m a year, most of it guaranteed. Flynn didn't suck, he just rarely played at all, as the freshly drafted Wilson outplayed him from training camp on.
One thing we need to note is that players rarely negotiate contracts. It's like 95% the agent doing the work. Then lawyers. Players can instruct agents to make team-friendly contracts, Tom Brady style, assuming they'll have more sway with the GM, thus get them the players they need (like better OL). Most players don't do this though. It's business and they leave it up to the business people, and the team and GM will have to figure out their end. Some players have tried negotiating their own contract. Russell Okung comes to mind. He was heavily criticized for his first signing with Denver, though he did earn his bonuses. His follow up contract he did much better on. I just looked him up, apparently his last contract he got half of it in Bitcoin when it was low, making the final value of the contract very high! I don't know if he re-allocated those assets, or what, but it's kind of a savvy move!
As to the AFC West, that division will completely be loaded! The "problem" Denver and LV have is Kansas City is still a very elite team. In fact, I will argue had they not given up that last score to the Bengals, they would have beaten the Rams. But what do I know? The Chargers are an interesting team in that division. They have real talent, but also may struggle with identity to win enough games. But this division could see the division winner with 5 losses, mostly due to inter-division play, hurting their playoff seeding. We could also see the team in last place finish 10-7!
Most of us know w years that if you watch sports multiple-generation the older people in the room get all romantic and start talking about the good old days according to their memories and experience. I don't think that younger fans will ever enjoy a real team, kind of our team mentality to the degree before free agency.. I was a retail victim in San Diego and NY buying a t-shirt and jersey to wear tailgating at Jack Kirby-Qualcomm and at the Meadowlands only to have the thing nd obsolete in no time.Lol this will never end.
As a certified old viewer and sometimes fan of the NFL; those old days came at a cost. Most of the players were pretty much stuck where the Owner's wanted them and treated like property. Most died young or suffered in older age. I'm not saying that is totally changed but today's players should have zero illusions about their shelf life and the need to be personally professional. "I'm lucky I made it this far." should be the motto of any athlete that made it through college and into a pro contract. Most of us know w years that if you watch sports multiple-generation the older people in the room get all romantic and start talking about the good old days according to their memories and experience. Too many trades, too much the feel of moneyball, and I personally am getting a feeling from my interactions that fantasy football and the essence of Draftkings type stuff is gaining steam.
I never thought I would miss Terry Bradshaw,Fran, Bob Griese, Iron Curtain..and on and on, Where did you go Joe DiMaggio, turned into, will my QB beat a league suspension and domestic violence rap in time for the playoffs..?
I think that the NFL should double down and have a trade deadline in December,Call it the Christmas Gift..allow players on stinkers to go to a contender,to make a difference,if the price is right, designated hitters if you will
Good pick up for TEN.
Rumors have him going to Indy, Mayfield's "first choice". Colts want to win now and 37-yo skilled QB might be the answer. Not to keep making it about Seattle but they don't want a disgruntled prima-donna from Cleveland unless his mind is right.ATL is dangling Matt Ryan for a trade. If the offense is built correctly he is pretty good. He is always in the high 60% completions, and doesn't throw too many picks (but when he does they seem to be in crunch time). The price might be too high though.
Who could go after him? NOLA?
If I had to chose between Mayfield and Ryan for one year, I would take Ryan. If I was planning for longer term, obviously Mayfield is the choice especially if Pete thinks he can develop/refine him.Rumors have him going to Indy, Mayfield's "first choice". I agree and have always thought Ryan was better than his stats most of the time I saw him play.If I had to chose between Mayfield and Ryan for one year, I would take Ryan. If I was planning for longer term, obviously Mayfield is the choice especially if Pete thinks he can develop/refine him.
