Didn’t watch the game but Raiders finally reach 30 points the game after McDaniels is fired, not good for him. Same with the report that players, coaches, and executives absolutely laid into him before he was fired if true.

Saints pulling away in the NFC South but all but Panthers could win still. I wonder how much longer Evans and Godwin will want to stay on the Bucs going back to poor quarterbacks. If I were Chiefs, Lions, Bills, Chargers, Bengals, or Eagles I’d try picking them up to help bolster the offense.
Patriots with another L, definitely didn’t think they’d do worse than the Jets especially after Rodgers was injured.
Ravens and Browns with a strong showing and help to keep clear of Bengals. Honestly I think all three wildcard spots in the AFC can be earned by AFC north with how Chargers are playing.
Vikings could still sneak into the playoffs with how the NFC is playing out.

This illustrates how bad McDaniels was. The Raiders go out & play like champions today destroying the Giants.

I had said early in the season that McDaniels is not head coaching material. And Alpe had commented that if they were to fire him who are they going to get to replace him. Well, I think after today's performance Antonio Pierce should seriously be considered for the job. He's in his mid-40s, he's been in the league for quite sometime as both player & coach. And he's had some head coaching experience where he was associate HC, DC & recruiting coordinator at Arizona St.

Joe Burrow is a killer. Nerves of steel, and a general on the field. Every time he had to step up, he did, no matter what Buffalo threw at him. Right now Cincinnati is as good as any team in the NFL. The Bills are relying too much on Josh Allen to make magic. They have one key receiver in Diggs, and that's it. Their run game is so-so. Also, their defense has lost just a step. Having Tre White out really hurts, and now Poyer banged up. Also, either Von Miller just isn't fully healed from his ACL tear, or he's just lost a step at this point.

Incredible win for the Raiders, though TBH the Giants are not a good team. Still, didn't expect the Raider offense to play like they did. And 8 sacks by the D, when this entire season their total was 16. Yes, the "anybody but McDaniels" for coach was the answer! If the Raiders play anything like this the rest of the season, and Mark Davis doesn't give Pierce (and GM Champ Kelly) the job, he's insane.

Dallas had numerous chances to pull something out against the Eagles, and each time they couldn't do it.

As good as Baltimore looked, it appeared to me Seattle barely showed up. The Ravens are really hard for me to figure out. They flattened Cleveland, and blew out Detroit also. But they lost to the Colts, the Steelers held their offense in total check all game, and they struggled to beat the Cardinals.

Incredible play by Joshua Dobbs for the Vikings! Minnesota fans have to have real hope here!

I wouldn't totally blame Mayfield for TB losing. The put up 37 points and stayed in the game until late.

GB and Love got a big win today over the Rams. But really it was their defense.

Another solid win for the Colts, and another loss for Carolina. They relied on Young to hopefully pull out a victory and he threw a lot, but also threw three interceptions, and was sacked a few times.

Miami were dreadful at both ends of the game. They go down 0-21 to Kansas which is usually fatal but the Kansas offense hasn't been the regular machine this season. Once Miami got Mostert involved in the run game , Kansas started to struggle. They had all the momentum and just needed Tua to make a few plays late which he couldn't do, to get them back into the game. Another game of missed opportunities for Miami.

Eagles and Cowboys was a good contest. Dak is playing better than earlier in the season but again, late in the game when the win was on the line, he couldn't get it done, camped in the Eagles red zone. Eagles defense also stepped up late in the game.

Bengals look as good as any team at the moment and are obviously back on track. Too slick for the Bills. Allen had his usual good and bad game but this one was mostly good. Bengals have the more balanced offense at the moment and Mixon is also back in form.

Raiders beat the hot mess that is the Giants. Jacobs continued his good form and was making the Giants defense look pretty bad. Jones was back then he was down and out again. Tyrod Taylor on IR with a rib injury after looking pretty good and the third string QB didn't have it on the day. A porous O line didn't help him. Jones extension at a cost of 40 million looks like a bad mistake. He's become injury prone and not very productive when he does play. Daboll who was getting very angry a few weeks ago now realizes what he is dealing with and now prefers to keep the anger at the simmering level. He almost looks bored. In other words he knows the season is done.

Seattle never got into the game with the Ravens and their offense was a no show. Ravens ground game is very good while Andrews is doing his thing at TE. Their defense has also tightened up. Seattle and the 49ers are now running into the hard part of their schedule. Whichever team copes best with the next five games will probably win the NFC West and that includes two games against each other.

Detroit and the Eagles look like fighting out the NFC for the one seed at the moment. The Detroit schedule looks pretty favourable. Although as the Bengals and 49ers have already found out, one loss can easily turn into three in the NFL. While the Bengals have turned it around, the 49ers have the opposite problem and really need a win against the Jags next week. The Rams dropped three in a row in midseason before winning the SB two seasons ago but the 49ers can't afford four losses in a row with what's to come.

SEA...WTH?! I've got very few words. BAL D and LJ are really good but come on, aren't you a professional team?

Alpe, Shakir is coming on to take some pressure off of Diggs.

WOW Dobbs!

CIN and smokin' Joe are looking good.

PHI 8-1.

EDIT: Stroud showing that he could be a good QB1 in the NFL.

It’s meant for Baker as a whole for this season, not just the one game. He hasn’t been the reason they’ve lost on some but has in others. Bucs are looking at potentially missing the playoffs and another losing record. For receivers of Evans and Godwins talent they can only take so much of that mediocrity after having such highs with Brady. Despite Evans saying he only wants to play for one team, there was already rumors of him being traded. Same with Godwin.

I watched part of the 1st quarter where Geno actually hit great sideline passes, one dropped. He also worked the TEs well but they kept running to the left of center and went nowhere. Ravens almost didn't need to adjust to stop that. Seattle, likewise seemed to have some control at that point when I left to get outside. Apparently SEA defense took a break too. Glad I didn't witness that.

Chargers with an ugly offensive performance against a really great defense. Honestly hoping Jets can reach the playoffs this year but think they’ll fall short by a game.
Herbert had 136 yards and the Chargers still win by 21 ! Jets offense was horrible. 3 turnovers in the first quarter and a bit. Chargers defense has improved luckily but their offense still looks pretty limited.

I think Troy Aikman said it perfectly at one point though. The Jets offense has a lot of problems, and even if Aaron Rodgers were playing they'd be better, but they'd still have a lot of problems. Rodgers talks about returning by Christmas. But if they aren't in contention, why? Why push it at all?

I'm pretty sure everyone on this board said we would all draft CJ Stroud before Bryce Young. Even though he did very poorly on the S2 Cognition Test.*

That Daniel Jones injury is something. Non-contact, on a grass surface. And upon reflection the field didn't look bad at all. These kinds of injuries are rare. Giants woke Matt Barkley up from napping on a couch somewhere and signed him.

12 teams so far have started more than one QB. Some teams QB started but should have sat a week (Purdy, Carr, Burrow). I can't even list or guess how many have actually played more than one QB, and not just on trick plays. 15? And we're only halfway through the season.

Some teams likely in dire straits if their starting QB goes down, when you look at their depth chart. Chargers, Bengals, Giants, Buccaneers, Rams, Jaguars. Probably the Chiefs, Bills, Eagles and Steelers, more. Several of these are very good teams. A lot just one mishap from having their season upended. The team with the best depth chart is probably Miami. Behind Tua they have both Mike White and Skylar Thompson. Dallas in an okay spot with Dak, Cooper, and Tre.

49ers were stupid playing Purdy on a short week after a concussion even if he was cleared. It was the ideal situation to play Darnold and that's what he was signed for ! And Burrow was hopping around on one leg for a few games. Ridiculous.

I don't see half of Sunday s results as quality football and that includes a good group tackle in the Dallas game. Way too many games were big plays away from win or defeat. I see the Eagles as more sound fundamentally. I also have faith in KC to return to balance of a decent running and passing game..
Chargers looked terrible and no coach or team can look for defensive points or take aways to be a planned part of a winning strategy. That said the Kansas City up the sidelines pitch touchdown was fantastic!!!

I think Chiefs are trying but don’t see them returning to pats glory without a big receiver signing to compliment Kelce as their receiving game runs through Kelce. The issue is if the other receivers can’t pass the ball, the run game gets ate up. Like how NE had trouble in 2019

Kelce is okay.. not the fastest and certainly not the best hands, he gets some separation, effective, KC needs traditional button hook pass patterns, run 4-6 turn around and ball is in the numbers. Because when the plays develop fast Pacheco is deadly effective.
And in Philadelphia defense has respect for a well rounded game.. Have to show equal respect for run, pass, QB talent and deep ball.. Both teams have decent defense..
Watch the Chargers ok team.. Weak defense in every aspect.. QB talent.. single effective running back and the offensive line does not permit anyone to shine.
Still think Miami is pretty dynamic.
Would love to see more Cinderella stuff from 49ers and Vikings but I think the QB is going to be everything in the story.. hope I am wrong and both guys are great.. Purdy definitely showing signs of being human, McCaffrey, looking human
