Richard is right.

I like the Geno trade. Raiders didn't give up much, Geno still has a lot of tread on the tires, and works with a HC he knows very well.
This puts the AFC West in a hot QB division. You have the best QB in the league,
IMO that's Lamar Jackson.
Herbert, who I'll admit is playing good football & is a top 10 QB.
Is he really? You've been on the bust bus on him.

Yeah, I believe he's a top 10 -12, somewhere in there. Statistically, he's put up some big numbers & was ROY. This past season he had a career high 306 rushing yds (4.4 Avg) - showing some of the mobility & athleticism that he possess (he's a 4.68 40 - faster than Mahomes & Allen). And he's 41-38 career (3 winning seasons out of 5) which is better than a lot of other starting QBs in the league.

Sure, he's got the 0-2 playoff dark cloud on him that he needs to shake off, but when I look at how this league is littered with 1st rd QBs that aren't even starting anymore let alone ever had more than one winning season (in some cases no winning season), Herbert is not doing all that bad.

KC fans a bit miffed about the Worthy issue, piled on top of other issues. "Chiefs are the new Raiders"

The more I think on it, the more I'm surprised the Seahawks gave up on Geno the way they did. My guess is they must either think Sam Darnold is the guy to build upon and will sign him, or they think they maybe can trade up to get Shedeur? Or...? They aren't really going to roll with Sam Howell, are they?

Some punits thought a team could snag tackle Ronnie Stanley away from the Ravens were dreaming. New 3 year deal at $20m a year.

I'm having a hard time interpreting this, but it looks like the Saints have reloaded Derek Carr's contract, stacking much of it into a signing bonus. This could mean they expect him to be their QB for only 2025, and that's it. Or this is some odd cap move I don't get, because they are currently $38m over the cap? Unless they are planning on getting rid of Cameron Jordan? Demario Davis? Taysom Hill? But they also have several players in the $3-5 mil range, which is how you want to build a team. But got a heap of picks for dealing Lattimore last year, but are eating a chunk of his salary as dead money. The odd part is once they get to 2026, even with most of their current guys, they finally get (mostly) out of cap hell and are $80m in the black. So, are they planning on restructuring several current guys? Replacing them with mid-round picks? I honestly don't get what their plan is?

But I agree with Sherman. If Geno is somewhat mobile, Darnold really isn't. And with Seattle's bad OL, there's so much work to be done.

If Darnold doesn't get signed, my guess is the Seahawks try to trade up to get Ward or Shedeur. Or they fortify the trenches, sign someone like Mac Jones, and just look at this season as a total rebuild and look towards 2026.

At some point Jodi needs to sell the team. Granted, this would be really hard to push her legally. But as mum as she is, the thought is after getting a new coach into place, she would build the team up to being good, then sell it at maximum value (to someone like Bezos?), after all, Paul has been gone for nearly 7 years now. But this latest decision making could set that back 2-3 years. Not that the Seahawks will lose value, but...

Who knows...stranger things have happened. Howell has the all physical skills to be a starter in this league. Though undersized (identical to Mayfield), he has excellent arm strength & good athleticism/mobility (rushed for over 800 yds in his SR season at North Carolina). His prospect grade was 6.22 - "Will Eventually Be Average Starter" - originally projected as an early 2nd rd.

But he had that disastrous 2023 season throwing a league-leading 21 picks (against 21 TDs), 65 sacks & low passing rating to go along with only 4 wins. He clearly wasn't ready to start & he, along with the coaching staff, were ran out of town.

Could newly acquired OC Klint Kubiak work with Howell correcting his flaws & developing him into a capable starter? Or is he beyond any development and destined as another journeyman backup?

Crosby's massive extension for Vegas just got blown out of the park by Garrett's new deal with the Browns : 40 million per season which is the biggest defensive deal in the league. So much for no longer wanting to play for the Browns ! Browns GM continues to splash the cash...........Joey Bosa tipped to be heading to the 49ers for a mid deal with incentives if the rumors are correct. Typical 49ers move but one I don't like, with his age and injury history. 49ers cost cutting continues with DE Maliek Collins joining Hargrave as cap casualties.

Be interesting to see the later deals for Darnold and Purdy in light of the Geno move and the Allen extension. 55 mill per season for the MVP sounds like a good deal for the Bills compared to what other QB's are getting re Henry, Lawrence, Love, Dak, Tua etc........though I'm hearing now that the guaranteed money for Allen will be big.

This is just days after someone said inside the Raider offices they felt Crosby actually signed a team-friendly deal! I expected it to take a year to be proven likely true!!!

Agree the $55m to Josh Allen already looks like a screaming team-friendly deal in this new light! Surprised he signed for so little. LOL!

I think the Rams overpaid for Adams. However, this is probably the best team he could have gone to. He will have a strong HC and vet QB to keep his ego in check, and feed him enough passes. Kupp is now 100% gone.

DK to Pittsburgh is interesting beacause I'm not sure who is going to throw him the ball? It can't really be Wilson, can it? They also have Pickens, who is very good, but also complained a lot, maybe pushing Mike Tomlin to dump him?

Some Raider fans saw a trade for DK, but I knew that wasn't coming. I'm not even sure they pick up Lockett, unless it's a very team friendly deal.

That’s a great pickup for the Rams, and sinks Rodgers ship even lower. Adams and Nacua should be tough to cover.

Good pickup for the Steelers. It’ll be interested to see their quarterback.

Good on Allen getting paid, hopefully team is able to build up around him since he’s been an A+ with a lot of Cs.

Watson’s was $230 mill and still a huge waste. People complain about Froome getting the contract post Sky yet Watson committed a bank robbery and got away with it.

Of course, I was kidding, it was a horror story. Browns need a complete rethink in their head office. once again they had a more than decent team that amounted to nothing and it's time for anther rebuild starting with the QB !I'm sure that many will be also questioning the Garrett deal when they could have got valuable picks for him as part of a rebuild. the sell off will start soon, sans Garrett of course.
