Fields has just about reached Terrelle Pryor 2.0.

As to Warner, 2023 is the year the Niners should have won the SB. They lost Hufanga that year to a torn ACL. Then during the Super Bowl Dre Greenlaw tore his achilles jumping up and down on the sidelines of all things. The Warner/Greenlaw tandem were two of the best coverage LBs in the NFL.

Speaking of...Greenlaw should make his Broncos debut next week. Curious how he does on that already stacked defense. If Nix can start throwing with more consistency, the Broncos could really make a run.

As to the Raiders, there are so many holes that need filling: But Geno just looks washed. So if the Raiders finish about 4-13, they should have a high draft pick, and I hope they finally draft a QB for the future, even if that wasn't Pete Carroll's plan at 74.

I guess that loss to the Raiders did him in. Lol. Callahan was walking on thin ice this season anyway after going 3-14 last year with Levis his starter for most of season.

I think Smith goes in that "underachiever" category? (not a bust by any means). As a very good mobile pocket passer at West Virginia & high 2nd rd pick, he just hasn't done enough in the winning category. He was terrible in his first 2 seasons with the Jets, but turned things around in Seattle with those 2 winning seasons in 2022 & 2024 throwing for over 4000 yds in each season with good passer ratings. But only one postseason appearance in those 2 seasons which was a "one & done." He's a disappointing 41-47 in career starts & currently listed as only a "Tier 3" QB.

I thought Cam Miller was the team's future QB? Brady offered some influence in the drafting of Miller stating he was very impressed with him. And I would think Brady knows (or should know) a thing or two about QB talent? Has Carroll ever addressed this as to what the future holds with Miller? Does he see a future starter there or just another low-drafted prospect fighting for a roster spot?

Agree about Greenlaw especially in the SB but Hufanga could be hit and miss. He featured in too many blown coverages and positionally he was bad. He wanted to be like his idol Palamalu but never had that sort of speed. Most fans were okay with him leaving but Greenlaw was a blow. He and Warner were a great tandem. But Hufanga was a great interview and most of the journalists loved him. They were also getting more turnovers when he was active. A bigger loss for the 49ers was losing Buckner to the Colts at his peak from the D line. Looks like Deebo made the right move as well, as he's playing much better for the Commanders than he did for the 49ers over the past season or more.

Bills just had no consistency. Their real problem seems to be on their DL. Just can't stop the run, can't get pressure. But also the Bills receivers were not getting open. Allen's second pick was tipped, and effectively in garbage time, but sealed the game.

Washington completely botched a near certain win, into a painful loss.
I thought Cam Miller was the team's future QB?
He's a low risk project to be developed. A dual threat, though not physically imposing. In two preseason games one he looked very good, the other he looked like a lost rookie. I think he's a "let's see if we can turn him into a Purdy" guy, but that would not stop the Raiders from drafting someone high next year, or signing someone young and discarded (Zach Wilson? Will Levis like you thought?) if they think it can work better than old and discarded, like Geno.
Agree about Greenlaw especially in the SB...
That TD by the Chiefs at the end of the game? Had Greenlaw been in he would have been the guy covering Hardman. Mahomes and the Chiefs weren't dumb. Fred Warner is consistently ranked one of the best LBs in the NFL. He used to say Greenlaw was better in coverage. Though Dre wasn't better overall.

As to those QBs who don't immediately win and "get their coaches fired", I think it's a Jayden Daniels effect. An owner sees that, and expects every other draft pick to do the same, or close. Even when we see guys like Mayfield, Darnold, Jones, Jones, show their ability to really flourish over time, most owners aren't that patient.

Bears had a good win. Swift played well. Not surprised it came down to a kick to decide it.

Billls have gone off the boil it seems. Allen had an off day and they couldn't stop the Falcons RB's. Bijan Robinson went for 170 yards yards and the team had 210 in total. London also played well at WR for the Falcons.

And the C.J. Stroud effect as well: ROY, 10 win season, division title, postseason plus a playoff win. 2nd season another 10 win campaign, division title & postseason plus playoff win (he's 19-13 in 32 starts & 2-2 in postseason). We'll see what happens this season which looks like a more tougher division than in years past.

Didn’t see the game but the Bills crapped the bed today especially with 2 interceptions. Just like that the number one seed opened up for the Chiefs.
Allen didn't play his best game by any means. He threw 2 picks & though one was a tip, the other was in the red zone right to the defender. He didn't generate enough offense & looked unenthused, IMO (maybe all those silly commercials he's been doing is catching up to him. Lol).

The Bills better get their act together. They've lost 2 in a row & are tied with the much improved Patriots for the division lead with the Pats holding the tie breaker with their win over them in week #5.

They really have; defensively they're 16th in total D & 7th in scoring D. Offensively, they're 16th in total O & 11th in scoring O.

Maye has improved dramatically under McDaniels. He's top 5 in all the passing stats & 7th in QBR. He's also the team's 3rd leading rusher.

What a difference changing offensive coordinator has seem to have made. McDaniels is using the "Erhardt-Perkins" system which emphasizes play-action passing, off-schedule throws, designed runs, etc - an offensive scheme taylored around a QB's mobility & athleticism (they're 9th in play-action passes executed).

However, as you said the season is still young & they play some good teams coming up over the next several weeks plus Buffalo again in Nov. But being 4-2 with beating the Bills, I think they've gotten Allen & Co's attention.

Richardson is going to be dealt to another team. It would be tricky trading him before the 11/4 trade deadline, but I'll be shocked if he's on the team next year, unless Daniel Jones suffers a career ending injury.

As horrible of a head coach Josh McDaniels is, he's an excellent OC. Don't forget the only good season Mac Jones had in NE was when Josh was their OC.

Steelers are going to go 5-1 after tomorrow's win over Cincy. In multiple recent years Tomlin's teams started strong, and wilted late, then were predictably one and done in the playoffs. They have upcoming games against the Packers, Colts, Chargers, Bills, and Ravens (with Lamar presumably back) and later on the Lions and Ravens again. That's when we'll find out how good they and Rodgers are.

Unreasonable suspension, IMO. As I mentioned before, fights like this happens all the time in the joint practices during the preseason. Smith-Schuster had his helmet on when he was slapped - so there was no injury. Lol. And notice how quickly the coaches & players intervened preventing an all-out brawl. The Commissioner can't expect everything to be rainbows & marshmallows post game - tempers will flare up once in awhile.

He goes on IR for the next 4 weeks - can a player be traded while on IR? And if you can, would the Colts try to unload him before the deadline?

If Riley Leonard can win the backup job, then I don't see AR with the Colts next season either (Leonard is currently QB3 & Steichen said he's undecided whether he's going to designate Leonard or just signed Rypien as the backup for this weekend's game).

I tried looking it up, and it's complicated if you can trade a player on IR. If he's truly hurt, no. Players also are on IR for 4 week minimum where they can't play and aren't on the 53 man roster. But once a player is back practicing, he can be traded. Can you practice and be on IR? Generally no, it doesn't happen. But there are exceptions where it has and it's confusing as all heck. The player also has to pass a physical with the new team before the deal goes through. This link somewhat explains the complexity of it. I have no idea if on 11/4 Richardson will fall within that window. Only the paperwork must be filed on that day. A trade can later be nixed by the league.

More fallout from the Chiefs yet again getting favoritism from the refs. Dan Patrick had a clip that showed after his TD Mahomes spun the ball in front of Branch then pointed at him. No call. This was much more obvious than what Nacua got called for (an otherwise good dude and very clean player), and same with Smith-Nigba also being called for spinning the ball. I imagine Smith-Schuster will get fined, Mahomes may get fined, but that's not the same as not getting called during the game. A game were the Chiefs didn't get a single penalty. Here's a link to the video showing Mahomes taunting Branch.

Here's a link showing a study by UTEP showing favoritism towards the Chiefs.

As Antonio Pierce alluded to last year, if you're to get called for just touching Mahomes (or not going to get the calls at all) you might as well get your money's worth and just up and clock him, Tony Siragusa style. Eventually someone is going to do it.

NFL going crazy with their ridiculous system of fines and suspensions. Even starting to make the NBA seem reasonable.

Chiefs got away with quite a bit that game, I think an article I saw had 8-11 plays selected, but they missed some of the penalties the Lions committed too. Mahomes was also talking a lot of trash besides the taunting, JuJu was the star that broke the camels back.
