Look at the rest of Sunday's slate of games. Only a handful of close or interesting games and very few with any big moments. If they are scripting games they sure have a strange way of doing it.
Well then, how do you explain this improbable, unrealistic & fairytale comeback by the Broncos? Lol.

33 pts in the 4th Qtr - the most pts ever scored by a team in a 4th Qtr after a being shutout in the first 3 quarters in league history.

For the first 3 quarters of play the Broncos had a total of two(2) 1st downs, punted 6 times & had 6 possessions go for 21 or fewer yds. Then magically the offense comes alive in 4th Qtr scoring 33 pts in warp speed. Lol

In the 4th Qtr, the Giants got a TD making the score 26-8 with 10:14 left in the game giving them - according to the sophisticated NFL winning % probability computer- a 99% of chance of winning.

And when the Giants got the ball at their own 30 up 26-15 with 5:07 left in the game, the computer showed the Giants still having a 97% chance of winning (if you have a 97% chance of winning the lottery...you're winning the lottery).

And if things couldn't get even more egregious, the Giants kicker (McAtamney) misses an extra-point after a Giants score with 37 seconds left in the game. This allowed the Broncos to magically mow down the field & kick the winning FG instead of a game tying FG. And it wasn't like McAtamney's kick was blocked or tipped or even a bad snap, but he hooked it in perfect weather conditions (I ought to know - I live in Denver).

And if this game wasn't scripted or interfered with, then why hasn't Daboll fired his DC & cut McAtamney? Better yet why hasn't Daboll been fired? The guy is a total chump & has no business as a HC. He's 9-25 the last 2 yrs finishing 3rd & last in the division. He's now 2-5 & last in the division. Does this guy get some kind of special treatment or what for being a lousy coach? Lol.

Here's the percentages of winning probability computer throughout the 4th Qtr:

There have been other collapses though over the years, other comebacks. But I do agree this one was almost surreal. As I said in my first post about the game, Denver had no business winning. They were not in the game for three quarters, at all. It wasn't even close. Maybe surprising the way the Giants had effectively moved the ball with consistency, and how their defense stopped Denver over and over. But the game was lopsided up to that point, in favor of the Giants.

DE Brian Burns was incensed after the game, because of how the Giants DC Shane Bowen went with a prevent defense in 4Q (basically dropping 8 men into deep coverage). As the old saying goes, "prevent defense prevents you from winning."

And their kicker missed TWO extra points. How often does that happen in game?

Wow, that sucks a lot for Evans with another injury and barring an absolute miracle ends his 1000 yard streak. Lions defense is playing extremely well so far against a great offense.

He has such a big frame and came down full speed trying to maintain the catch.. Impressive effort but terrible outcome. Bucs at 5-1 but he will be missed for sure

Looks like a bad concussion, likely to miss 2 weeks, but who knows. Shoulder injury unknown.

Lions playing motivated. Taking out their frustrations in the KC game on the Bucs.

Curious what the Texans can show against an improving Seahawks team.

Denver game was was crazy. Both teams had a TD from a ricochet and that was the just the beginning of the shenanigans ! Payton's love affair with officials continues...........

Jags were awful against the Rams. Their offense did little.

Cards could have won the game with GB but are unable to close out games. Jacobs was probably the difference. Brissett had another solid game at QB.

Colts were too good for the Chargers who were unable to stop Taylor or much else.

Dak and Pickens show continues for the Cowboys.

Not surprised by the Buccs loss. They scratched out a win against the 49ers and like the 49ers, have been winning close games with a B team on offense. Against the better teams that gets tougher to do.

Out for the year. That’s a big loss for the Bucs and I think stops them from going far in the playoffs. Lions defense played very well while their offense got a lot of yards but didn’t translate them to points. I think one seed is between them and Eagles.

For Chiefs down the road the Colts game should be a good game and we can see if Daniel is up for the challenge.

Impressive game for Seattle, 1st half especially, but the Texans came to play. Tough, gritty game.

Will be interesting to see when Seattle plays the Rams, and Colts in a few weeks.

I dunno, did Daniels completely thrash his knee? Otherwise, RGIII was quite good until that happened, ROY and all. I wouldn't be too offended by the comparison.
Daniels is starting to mount injuries in only his 2nd yr. At 6'4" & 210 lbs, I think his frame is too light to be a pure dual-threat. He's built more like an NBA point guard.

I read an article at the end of last season that one of the goals the team had for Daniels was to put on some muscle & weight under the guidance of their strength & conditioning coach. I haven't seen it - he looks just as light as he did last year.

A couple of dual-threats that don't get injured very often are Allen & Hurts. As I mentioned before Allen, at 6'5" 240 lbs, is a TE that can throw the heck out of the ball. Hurts at 225 (6'1") spends a lot of time in the weight room as is pound for pound one of the strongest players in the league. And Cam Newton back in his day was another monster at 245 lbs that would bulldoze over defenders & very seldom got hurt.

The prototypical NFL frame for a dual-threat seems to be at least 225 lbs with a strong, sturdy build.

Fields was benched at halftime of last Sunday's game. If he rides the bench the rest of the season then the experiment with the Jets has been a failure. His current stats are bad (only 4 TDs thrown & a league low QBR of 31) & worst of all the Jets are 0-7.

Jets weren't smart enough to front-load the 2-year $40m deal, and $30m of that is fully guaranteed, so Woody is doling that out to him no matter what. Maybe they can convert him to a WR/gadget guy. Sort of like Terrelle Pryor meets Taysom Hill?

As to Daniels, you may recall me saying the only concern I had about him coming out of college was his slight build. He just has to play a bit smarter when he runs and he should be fine.

Being huge doesn't always work though. Jamarcus Russell at his peak was 6'6" and some 330lbs. Look at how his career turned out.

Why was Johnson willing to pay so much for Fields when Ballard paid much less for Daniel Jones? Jones' contract was for 1 yr/$14m with $13m guaranteed & a $50k per-game active bonus. And Jones had the better performance record with the Giants with that impressive 2022 season where they made the postseason winning the WC round advancing to the divisional round. OTOH, Fields did absolutely nothing in his 3 yrs at Chicago. Nothing but losing seasons & a record of 10-25. And look at the Colts - sitting on top with the best record in the league at 6-1. And the Jets a laughable, embarrassing 0-7. No wonder Johnson is so pissed. Lol.

After the damning comments made by Johnson & a complete no confidence position he has on Fields, I don't see how he can remain on the team in any capacity? You can't have that kind of friction between an owner & player, can you?

What a joke - is McDaniel begging to be fired? The locker room is in turmoil & he wants to stick with Tua? Lol. Maybe McDaniel hasn't looked at standings lately, but his team is tied with 3 other teams for the 2nd worst record at 1-6, and they'd be last in the division if it wasn't for the haplessly 0-7 Jets. Lol.

And maybe he's oblivious to how bad Tua is actually playing. He has almost as many picks as TD passes (11/10) & is 28th in QBR (42). The offense is pathetic & they got horse whipped by the Browns in a game where they could muster only 6 pts. Lol

My wife told me earlier McDaniel was fired and I said “finally” only for it to be a fake article. Still hoping, then he’d get picked up pretty quickly for an OC job.

I'm reminded of when Jimmy Johnson's Cowboys needed a kicker, and he hired an aging Eddie Murray at the end of his career. The way Jimmy tells the story Eddie told him, "Coach, I can still kick straight. I can still make last second kicks under pressure. I just can't kick it as far as I used to." This was all Jimmy needed to hear. He determined anything over about 55 yards was out of the question. They would punt, or go for it in those situations. That year Murray went 28/32, with 2 of the 4 misses coming over 50 yards, and 1 other miss a blocked kick. He was 32/32 on extra points.

Miserable game for Carson Wentz and the Vikings. Their OL, a strength last year, was porous. And their defense couldn't stop the run, and left so many gaps in their zone in passing. Chargers were workmanlike in this win though, a good bounce back from last week's beating at the hands of the Colts.

Felt bad for Wentz though. Dude fought to the very end, or at least until he was finally pulled, which should have happened much sooner as he was in obvious pain. Kirk Herbstreit taking a crap on Wentz for showing emotion was just bad broadcasting. I know Wentz has never proven himself as high as he was drafted, but you have to admire his spirit in games like this, though his body has to be about done with football at this point.

Wentz already had devices to stabilize his arm and shoulder in place at kickoff. I felt like coaches were not even prepared to win the game. Questions about who would come in if a battered Wentz couldn't go on.. I felt terrible for the team and TV camera in pain cam mode following Wentz to see his body contract in agonizing expressions. Color team mentioned that Wentz should be able to control his facial and body movements from overwhelming pain as something " a leader does " and he went further to say if Jefferson was hurt he would hide it better because of leadership qualities.. Ridiculous. Lot's of what was bad about Wentz injuries were how it was the major story of the game. Too much talk and camera time about Wentz suffering.
Chargers played OK.
Vik coaching was baseball equivalent leaving a guy in to pitch when he is scheduled for Tommy John surgery, what's the point..

Watch closer. They didn't "fall for it". Mahomes and the Chiefs just converted, that's all. The announcers maybe were thrown off, but the Raiders stayed in position.
You're right. The video I linked doesn't show the backers very well & I thought they let their guard down anticipating the Chiefs would call time out. This video with a better angle shows they were ready & were just blown back by the Chiefs OL. Nonetheless it's funny verbiage by Mahomes - did that actually go over the air live or does CBS use a short delay during their broadcasts? (I didn't see any of the game).

I only watched bits & pieces of the game missing the comment made by Herbstreit but later found it on "X." Big deal, so he throws his helmet down out of frustration. It's not like the first QB that's done that nor will it be the last. Lol.

The bigger issue with Wentz has been his ineffectiveness filling in as a backup. He's only 2-5 in the 5 games he's started so far. He has almost the same number of picks as TDs (6/5). He's 28th in QBR. He's having trouble getting the ball to the best receiver in the business (compare his performance to Jones who is 4-1 in his backup role). And if Wentz is that hurt, I question why O'Connell would even start him in the first place. O'Connell has Max Brosmer, an UDFA that had an impressive preseason earning a spot on the 53 as the 3rd QB. Brosmer is a mobile pocket passer & probably wouldn't have done any worse than Wentz.

I also admire Wentz's spirit & all that but remember this is the NFL & backups are expected to perform & win games when their number is called. Wentz is simply not winning enough games - he probably won't be resigned for next season. If he wants to continue to play in the league, he'll be nothing more than a journeyman backup.

Excellent performance by the Chargers. Harbaugh had them well prepared & ready to take care of business - they're a half-game behind Denver for the division lead. And Greg Roman is dead serious that he wants Herbert to run more: 62 yards on 7 carries. He's now 2nd in QB rushing yards behind Fields & slightly ahead of Allen. Harbaugh now has a formidable dual-threat in the making (and Herbert also leads the league in passing yardage). Good running by Vidal (over 100) who was the 3rd string RB at the start of the season. They don't seem to be missing Harris & Hampton much.

Yes it went over on live TV. The only time I’ve seen a delay is using YouTube Tv or NFL app on my phone but I think that’s just do to streaming issues.

Precisely. He finally did put Brosmer in for the last series, that's it.

I think Wentz is into Andrew Luck, Derek Carr, RGIII territory, in that I don't know if his body can handle much more football. Two ACL tears, broken wrist, broken ribs, broken fingers, now a thrashed shoulder and thrashed elbow. Plus various other typical injuries every NFL player gets like concussions and high ankle sprains. The guy should seriously consider calling it quits. He's married with a couple kids. Go spend time with them. Go do something else with your life while you still can.

Both the Chargers and Broncos games with the Chiefs loom large. Are these kids ready to take on the bully on the block? Should be fun for us to watch.
