Fantastic, Miami!
That's crazy...I had Texas winning that game & moving on to win the championship. Lol

Do you follow the women's tournament at all? I was watching #2 Iowa playing Louisville in the Elite 8. I'm amazed at the height of these women. Iowa who has the #1 player in the nation, Caitlin Clark, is 6-0 tall! Of the 15 players on Iowa's varsity roster, 11 are 6-0 ft or taller! And they have a 6-4 player & two 6-3 players.

This is insane when you consider less than 1% of women in the U.S. are 6-0 or taller (compared to 15% for men).

Two entertaining games today!

GREAT final 4 lined up!

Three programs who have never been to the final 4, and at least one who will be in the championship game!

With the transfer portal, I think that we will see more 'parity' like we did this year.

EDIT: the women's side is shaping up a little more along the seeding lines.

One of the talking heads on the radio this morning said something similar to what I typed above about the transfer portal, but added that INL has just started to be a factor (Miami this year), and will likely shape/disrupt the recruiting process.

I don't really follow the women's tournament but yes, women too have to be genetically gifted height-wise if they want to play past junior high school. I mean, I loved playing basketball as a girl but at only 5'5" there was nowhere to go. (Certainly not the WNBA! :tearsofjoy:) Honestly on our school team we had only one truly tall girl, the rest of us were average height. She was actually good though, so maybe she would have had a slim chance to make it in college and/or WNBA if she had wished to. (That's if the WNBA had even existed back then, I'm dating myself.)

Strange game of runs. The last five or so minutes were really the only back and forth. I was yelling at the TV that SDS was taking too much time getting into their 'bigs' set, and then...swish (not from a big).

SDS vs. ?
I was screaming each time SDS missed a three-pointer!

Will you be watching the next game? I'm not sure I can, my nerves can't take this! :tearsofjoy:

SDS vs. UCon
Yes!

I didn't watch the second game yesterday, but judging by the score UConn has more gas left than SDS. I'll still be pulling for SDS, but won't mind or be surprised if UConn wins. Hopefully it won't be a blowout one way or the other.

Miami seemed 'off'. Its hard to tell if they were just off, or if the matchup with UCon made them off.

Yes, just give me a good game!

LSU is the national champs!

They found a way to overcome how the game 'unfolded'.

That was a really poorly officiated game! Its unfortunate that women's basketball had the attention of a lot more people than usual, and one of the main points of discussion will be the poor officiating.

One last bit of Madness this evening...

I won't mind if UConn wins but they've won titles before. So I'll just be rooting for the little guys who've never been there before, go Aztecs!

I looked at the top 25 rankings before the tournament started and all 4 semifinalists were among the top 25, so it wasn’t out of this world that they made it that far, especially UConn, a traditional powerhouse. That said, many traditional teams struggled this season, either during the regular season or the tournament.

Bummer SDS lost by so much, ah well.

That aside are you following this Caitlin Clark - Angel Reese hand gesture drama? Being I haven't been following women's bball I can't really comment, but I'm intrigued!

https://sports.yahoo.com/lsus-angel...ism-what-are-you-gonna-say-now-005139333.html
I'm not intrigued because it is absolutely NOTHING! *Trolls on Twitter typed stupidity (expected), but now the media is running with it as a racial thing (maybe also expected). Who cares about a few hand gestures?! Its not even a story!

This is the only thing that the media should be talking about:
LSU won
The officiating was terrible
LSU overcame ^
The game had a massive viewing audience
LSU won

I hope that they meet again next year!

* A few hundred trolls on social media aren't 'America'. 10ish million people who don't care about a few hand gestures are 'America'. Why aren't they writing about that?!

EDIT: When you (suddenly) get WAY more interest, you also get people who you don't really want to have interest.

I've been reading up on it a bit more and I'll just say what happens on the court should stay on the court. This is being blown way out of proportion.

San Diego State defense kept them from losing by 30+ the offense went into hibernation.. UConn sprayed the ball around impressive .very unequal depth of talent,
UConn looked to be a way better team..
Bar that I was at @15 miles from the campus was packed, gasps each time SDS made mistakes or UConn scored and the air was not so slowly let out of the room..

The Dallas Mavericks had, before Kyrie Irving joinesd them, a 96% chance of making the play-offs. And people think they should offer him more money and years than they really want to keep him?!

Well..........history has shown what direction that ship was heading in and their decision to sit players when they were in a position to possibly make the playoffs was the owner's decision and currently under investigation. I am guessing that eventually lLuka and Kyrie will move on and Kidd will lose his job. Tanking is nothing new but usually not in the position the Mavs were in and it was done so they can retain a draft pick. I'm sure the NBA won't want to see this happening too often. The funniest side of the whole thing is that the Nets made the playoffs without the super heroes and Ben Simmons is still resting on full wages !
