Noticed Team Sky riders have names on their backs (a la football) .Didn't IAM get told by the UCI they couldn't do that and had to remove it?

(Its a great idea btw)

I think the problem was the way it was written. Originally it was IAM [name]. However, for some reason UCI wouldn't accept that - can't recall what the reasoning was - so it ended up as [name] IAM. Essentially turning the team into a bunch of Yodas...

The names were in a part of the jersey that is reserved for the sponsors.

UCI explanation was that there are areas of the shirt that are designated for sponsors' names, and that the IAM rider names appeared within that space. Names can appear elsewhere (and sponsors' names can presumably extend beyond the reserved areas)

I would love to see some standard for presenting names such that they can be seen easily and are uniform across all teams. And/or a squad number on the helmet.

It looks weird.

This is becoming ridiculous and not just because they turned one of the best jerseys of the peloton to a best youngster jersey. Please, UCI, appoint a design genereal and fix this mess from the beginning of the season so we do not have to watch races with 5-6 red jerseys during the season and then a complete overhaul at the Tour each year.

Going to be real hard to pick out the best young rider jersey on any given stage. Real hard.

Should not be allowed that one.
Then Sky's shouldn't be allowed either.

Anyway, ASO have never had an issue with team kit looking like the secondary jerseys. Only yellow has always been an issue.

I really do hope ASO orders either Trek or Sky to switch it a bit up, this is pretty ridiculous.

I can't fathom how Contador is in a picture and people are talking about the jersey instead of fatness.

sky's jersey has the blue stripe on the back, so is easy to distinguish from the white jersey.

I can't believe Haimar actually shows up in photos.
The joke's getting old. Haimar is a normal cyclist and it's easy to find him in photos. Case in point:
