Fourcade 17th ski time today, probably beatable, Svendsen 33rd time - probably only because clear shooting retained 2nd place, Krcmar had 19 th time, there I was wrong, but 2nd on last lap combined with improvement from 29th place makes it really good anyway. He's one of the greatest sprinters out there.
Fourcade was very fast, how is that possible? He was gaining time to everyone in all laps.
No he wasn't +he obviously didnt go all out over the whole last lap

In general, you shouldn't take the skiing times in a pursuit race too seriously, especially not in heavy snowfall.

another big surprise in the guys team sprint - both norwegian teams consisting of the cream of their sprinters this season are off the podium. frankly, i thought it will be norge 1-2 with a 3 d team quarter lapped.

why is this happening today to all 4 norwegian teams ? i have a hunch...its a cold air day and those with asthma can't go inside a trailer - as they told us numerous times - to cure themselves. this of course could be explored in the clinic, but it is also a legit health issue...waiting for a partner in the cold air and coughing aint fun..

Cold air?!? What was the air temperature?? It wasn't colder than -10 C. If they have trouble at -10 then they should just stay home. This is an outdoor sport, with lot's of different temperature ranges. Sometimes it's barely legal FIS temperature sometimes it's over +10 C. It's quite possible they are getting their doses of asthma meds wrong or after Sundby's case and the information that's been made public about widespread use of these meds, particularly on non-asthmatics, they've cut down on it. Or it's simply the others are gaining form and the Norwegians aren't. Or all of the above. Still, over a month to go until Lahti. I suspect different results. It's interesting that Pellegrino isn't having the type of season this year that he had last year or even two years ago. He may be playing it smart and his form is coming. We also have to take in consideration that not all the top skiers were here. Like I said, things will be different in Lahti.

Team sprint is quite different from individual sprint, history of results proves that I think. It's even arguable that the teams very Norge's cream - no Krogh, no Iversen, no Bransdal... You'd say cream would be combination of Golberg and Klaebo, but Norwegians decided to combine stronger with weaker in both teams instead combining two strongers and weakers. Skar and Taugboel aren't really cream of Norwegian sprinters.

What temperature was there?

are you saying (-8) isn't cold ;) i was mostly pyssing...but as they say, there's a drop of truth in every joke.

i almost never comment on the thing that could be or could be not happening in the future. the norwegian lahti showing is one of them. except i expect the finns to be helped by the home snow. the fact that the norge dominance this season is curtailed, could be, as you said, attributed to a number of things.

Wow, Krcmar - unbelievable performance today, huge improvement and the finish was very exciting, from 5th to 3rd, passed Peiffer and Shipulin despite that on the last intermediate it looked that he overcooked it and Shipulin is escaping...what a surprise at the finish to see Krcmar going past him and almost catching Svendsen! Few metres more and Krcmar would maybe pass even him. Great skiing today, I think 3rd time.

Yes. Unbelievable.
How and why
No answer - inconvenient question ;)

Hi guys,

I've started following biathlon this year in Eurosport. I've never paid attention to it, but one day I decided to watch it and I enjoyed it so much I'm now looking for races online. Do you know any web or tv channel in which I can see them apart from Eurosport?

Hello there

You can always watch IBU's own live stream from http://www.biathlonworld.com. It's pretty decent quality, although the english commentator is not the most knowledgeable :)
Also, in case you are not aware, you should check out http://realbiathlon.freeforums.org/. It's an online forum dedicated to discussing biathlon.

IBU stream used to be great when it had no commentator.

to maintain the greatness is as easy as ......hitting 'mute' ;)

i watch 90 % of all xc ski (and some biathlons) via the nrk - always on mute. feels great to avoid being fed crap...

bollocks, the Aussie open means that eurosport are only showing highlights this weekend, and its an interesting weekend with individual, mass start and the relays.

In biathlon, ladies' 15k in antholtz was a good race despite the unpredictable and gusty wind. Too bad Hauser flunked it in the last shoot - guess she might have been able to hold Dahlmeier back. Then again, im glad runggaldier podiumed and chevalier came close to winning.

Havent checked ski times yet, but again altitude seemed to shuffle the pack some, and especially mäkäräinen and perhaps koukalova too seemed to be more than a bit off.

There's not doubt that Hauser would have won with 20/20. Eva P could also have won with 20/20. She was faster than Hauser coming into the last shooting.

About Kaisa Mäkäräinen, rumours has it that she's been struggling with a flu. I can't say what happened to Koukalová. She was very fast on the tracks (2nd course time), but like almost everyone today she was having a hard time hitting the targets.

I would have liked Chevalier to win, but it was no surprise, that 20 seconds was not enough to hold back Dahlmeier on the last loop.

Okay competition, and refreshing with a new face on the podium (Runggaldier).

According to Finnish sources it's gastroenteritis (stomach flu) or food poisoning she has been dealing with. She considered skipping the whole race but decided to participate some hours before the start.

I don't understand that quite. There si no doubt Hauser would have won while simultaneously Puskarcikova would beat Hauser?

Koukalova suffered wind gusts.

Or maybe she doesn't want to be next Fourcade and is fed up winning od podiuming races.

I wonder how it's possible nobody writes about how Ruhpolding is boring and easy venue, especially Libertine and Cance. After Nove Mesto few people mentioned that every year. And Nove Mesto is harder and very similar in looks.

Bad wording. I meant to say, that Hauser would have beaten Dahlmeier if she'd shot clean. However, all evidence suggest that Puskarcikova would have won if she shot clean on the last shooting.
