Did they change the course in Les Rousses? Cause Lolberg and Odgen are on the podium, the times fast and the gaps small...
Very fast conditions mainly. I think they had the steep climb but no cameras there.

Ponsilouma with impressive speed in the biathlon relay

I guess there additional pressure of qualifying for the Worlds for the norwegians. But still very strange

I didn't watch it, but due to a lack of snow, they used the 3.3k lap

They went up that super steep hill next to the ski jumping hill 3 times, and the second “small hill” comes after a longer sustained effort with steady climbing. The planned 5k loop would’ve been easier, this was a legit WC course.

Whole Italian team skipped this one. The race being right after the Tour doesn't help either...
It’s almost two weeks since the Tour ended. Some years ago it often was a new WC weekend directly after the Tour, now it’s one weekend rest, so not sure if FIS can do much different. I think part of the problem is that a lot of people got sick during and after the Tour, Vermeulen mentioned that in his podcast jokingly blaming Flora Dolci and the French team. On the women’s side it was pretty similar numbers as the distance race in Davos, so it’s not too bad. If Norway sent full teams it would’ve been more or less like any other weekend quality wise.

Last time they raced in Les Rousses the Italians moaned about the course not being world cup worthy while always praising meh Italian ones, so maybe it's better that they skipped this one...

I guess that was mostly towards the mass start. The courses in Les Rousses are being very narrow and it will probable create some issues again on Sunday, just like in the mass start 2 years ago. It will probably be really bad for everyone starting outside of the first 25-30 when they go directly into that super steep hill next to the ski jumping hill after just a couple of hundred meters...

Johannes Boe just announced his retirement at the end of the season.
Something has definitely looked off. Still amazed he isn't hanging around for olympics.
Corks popping in the OEB house, 8 more wins seems unlikely this year in this form.

Well at least he's announcing it now instead of dragging out the decision out like we've seen other people do. I would still like to see him break the victory record before the end (although it shouldn't be a secret that I rather wanted Fourcade to have done it, and that I choose to believe Neuner could have surpassed it, if she had carried on for another decade).

Given that the Olympics is next year this seems like a terrible decision. He could even have beaten the 8 gold medal record but maybe he doesn't have the will anymore.

Great news for Lægreid and the French and this also ensures that Bjørndalen remains as GOAT.

So could Dahlmeier, most likely

You never know, the fact the decision is now made and finalised might take all that pressure off him and he goes on a tear in the final trimester. We've seen that a few times before, Björn Ferry in 2014 and Erik Lesser in 2022 most notably having a huge uptick in form once they'd decided on retiring.

Hagstroem blew that one by changing lanes, opening the door for Dalquist and loosing some speed (while also blocking Fähndrich).

Diggins out after the qualifer and Vonn only 20th today, not a good day for team cringe...

I think it would have been difficult for Dahlmeier, but Forsberg's record was obviously within reach at the time.

We also saw how the stars alligned for Grace Brown last year, so everything is possible. You can definitely count on some of JTB's rivals to screw races up for themselves.

Skistad and Anger win in Les Rousses. Makes sense as this was a double polling fest.

But Anger raced the whole final from the front and made it hard for everyone. That was an impressive performance on such a course.
