Andexer was actually gaining time on Elvira on the final lap.
Andexer is very talented and quite a strong skier, but it's taken her a bit of time to adjust to the World Cup level.
Maybe Preuß could have had more of an impact had she not raced the SMR as well, but overall I think it's a fair result. The German team fought their way back from a bad start but didn't quite have enough. Exciting for the Slovenes to do so well, Klemencic pops up from time to time with good results and Repinc is very young and still improving, she feels like she's been around because she had that great European Championships as an 18yo, but obviously Anamarija not needing a penalty loop is the biggest story - especially as she's actually been shooting a little way BELOW expectations here otherwise. But like the Slovaks and the American men's team, or the Estonian girls who nearly medaled last year, sadly they can get into the right ballpark but they just don't have enough depth at the top tier level or able to guts it out with the top teams without losing their shooting. All too often those teams go to the final leg having used up all their strongest athletes leaving a makeweight or junior facing off against the likes of Elvira, Franzi and Julia Simon.
