?? So I want the government to prioritize spending so that millions of dollars are not dumped down the drain chasing some one balled ego maniac bicycle racer and that makes me a supporter of the war?? The war on drugs? The war in Iraq? The war against 11 speed chains? I would gladly take a few million dollars from the DOD and put it toward physical fitness for everybody from fat kids to fat adults and I would see it as a good redirection of government funds. Watching over 50$ million!!! already spent on BALCO is dumb..and watching Barry Bonds sit in a box seat watching SF Giants beat the Rangers is proof that NOvitzky is not batting a 1000 for catching dopers.

Seems to be a criminal mentality and a doper's mentality rolled into one.

So now there's a cost benefit analysis for every arrest?

I guess you were ranting about the Rockefeller drug laws too? Oh, none of your idols were victimized by those laws. Ah, got it.

I can see where you are coming from and I think you are from the US(?). If it's such a great case..and I certainly don't know if it is or isn't..why not skip all the super expensive criminal BS and take him to civil court..or tax evasion offense..but a ten year old super complicated international investigation to prove that a non existent company had a slush fund from selling a few bikes? Not worth the millions in my book. I had an associate who sued a guy for a security deposit for an apartment..he was awarded 800 bucks after a year and a half.Lost wages and legal fees he only lost 3 grand for principal. BALCO is at 50 million and Bonds just got a court date and it's not for sure. To prove that LA got something in the US from doping is possible..but at what cost. what will he have to give back? No salary,no prize money,no TDF victories those are all in the books..if they want to prove LA is a tool you don't need a courtroom. How do you know Tommy Chong is not my idol?

Its not about cost, it's about vindication. For the CN Omerta money is no object if their anti-hero can be brought down. Of course I am not in any way alleging guilt or innocence for any person who may be under investigation. This will be worse than BALCO because there will not be a BALCO outcome but there will still be the huge taxpayer cost.

How large does Armstrong's crime have to be to investigate him?

Bonds case goes to trial early next year.

You investigate an ALLEGATION in order to ascertain if a CRIME has been committed. Then you ascertain whether any individual on group is culpable and whether you have enough EVIDENCE to support a prosecution.

There is no "Armstrong's crime", at the moment there is only your biased pre-supposition.

If you are going to call others out on facts, get yours straight first.

Nice attempt at spin, but you still fail.

The spin by the groupies is that an investigation of Lance is a waste of money. That it is no big deal.

How big does lance's crimes have to be to investigate him? When does it no longer become a "Waste of taxpayer money"?

The only spin is coming from you RR. when others post inflammatory remarks you and your buddies accuse them of trolling but apparently you don't apply the same criteria to yourself.

I personally have no problem with the investigation, I'm not an American so it's not my tax payer dollars that are funding it. How big would his crimes have to be? Once again I haven't seen evidence that he has been charged with committing any crimes.

Is it a waste of taxpayer money? Well time will tell I guess, it will depend on the final outcome. 20 Mill, 50 Mill, who knows. Some, like yourself would no doubt say that any amount of money spent will be worth it to see Armstrong punished for whatever you think he is guilty of. That will allow you to feel vindicated.

If a person was an outside observer, which you and I certainly are not, then I would bet that they could suggest a number of more serious social issues on which to spend their tax dollars, no matter what the final outcome is.

Not surprised that you keep dodging the question.

Let us know when you think Novtizky's investigation is worth it, he is eagerly waiting your approval prior to moving forward.

How much did the US spend to bring down the "criminal" Sadaam Hussein?

There was no "pre-suppostion" there?

Maybe Novitzky will speak to Pepe and Alberto?

But how would any converstations with anyone relate to the Grand Jury seated in LA?

Is Novitzsky looking for people who would come to LA to testify in front of the Grand Jury? Does Mr Novitzky gather info and make a presentation to the Grand Jury himself?

Polecat yer bein' obtuse again. Novitsky represents the investigation and he would be the authority to deal with Interpol and any organization that has relevant information and get them to share it. He could interview any willing foreign nationals and encourage them to testify if it had some merit. He may even encourage Euro jurisdictions to prosecute their citizens based on information he has. At the very least he would determine whether his investigation needed to have staff in Europe to pursue leads.

And he might go to Monte Carlo and gamble with some US currency while he's there just to give the chest clutching fans something to howl about, I don't know.

The "French conspiracy" talking point should make its way to the top of the list.

The ALFD likely has some interesting information on our friend Lancey-poo and his merry band, and it sounds like they are more than willing to share it.
You don't understand. Pierre Bordry hates Americans.

PR people. Where are you?

This European vacation is going to be fun.
