Nys guys finish first - Thibau, second of his name, Coronation Thread

Maybe the difference is that Nys is not yet at a level where he can race a full cross or road season at a consistently high level. Perhaps never will.
I'm sure both he and Sven learnt from Autumn 2023 where he started the cross season literally flying, but the level soon dropped off and he struggled thereafter. This season has been better, but still very up and down.
He seems to be a rider for the big occasions and I'm sure next week's worlds is his top priority.

The up an down part also has to do with coming into the season ill (10 days of fever), being still very young and a certain dose of bad luck. Compared to the previous season, it's a big difference already. So Thibau is up for it the next years without bad luck, I'm quite sure of it.

And indeed. No one expects him to defeat MvdP at the worlds, but actually don't be surprised if he gives him a bigger run for his money than anticipated. If there is one guy on the startlist able to do the impossible ...
