They were about to be caught anyway. The break is understandably pissed off.
Depends. Either the snow shower was south of the upper parts of climb and thereby also descent, or the snow had simply moved away from there in which case the descent could very well have been dangerous. If I see these conditions 200-300 metres lower than the summit though, I would judge it as unrideable as well unless I'm told the descent is snow-free. Therefore I wish they'd made clear(er) on race radio which of the two it was, the stage could perhaps have completed in case of the former.Weather looks pretty good where the break has stopped, but if the descent is dangerous, it's obviously the right call to neutralise the stage.
Pogacar would have finished before the snow started. The only question is, would Remco or Pogacar have cancelled the race?
Correct me if I'm wrong, but as far as I can see in the UCI regulations the extreme weather protocol only applies if extreme weather is forecasted, rather than it happening unexpectedly? Why do we even have an extreme weather protocol if they can just do whatever they want
Nevermind the past, many pros in the current peloton love to post snowy pictures of their winter ridesMaanwhile in the past

Roglic wouldn't cancel he'd just fall off the hill in the descentSurprised Vingegaard managed to cancel the race without Van Aert or Roglics help.
