The real book

Does anyone have odds on whose Tour will be beefed up?

Call me cynical, but there should be a parallel book on who will be busted, or who is likely to have doped during the Tour.

Evans is in with a chance this year but he needs at least 4 guys around him to be sure he dosnt fall off in the first week.

BMC are making a big investment in him so hope he can live up to it.

I think Evans is good at those types of stages, being a puncheur and all

money coming in for Andy on the exchanges.

i get that Andy was too long at 3.9 but i don't get why people are laying Basso, Samu, Frank, VDBke, Gesink etc way out at the best part of 100.

i don't think that the chances of a crash, massive field split, or drug bust are properly priced because let's face it, those aren't exactly rare in GTs. in GTs last year for example we saw

Giro: Pellizotti pulled out 5 days prior, VdV crashed out, Cadel, Wigans, Sastre, lost time in early splits, Basso, Nibali lost time on strade bianchi.
Tour: Frank crashed out, Lance and Cadel lost time due to crashes, Andy should have lost 10 ish minutes on the neutralised stage (time gaps everywhere on that stage) Andy lost time due to a shifting problem.
Vuelta: Anton and Mosquera

sure i'm missing things also from previous years, Ricco and chicken.

not rare.

I just looked at the market without Bert & Andy and immediately thought, "Has one of Basso's legs fallen off?".

He was last traded at 7.2 and no-one wants him at anything under 9.0.

Steve

PS I'd have to agree with the market that AC should be odds-on. Watching the Giro, I saw a guy winning with ease, rather than someone going too deep.

Can't say I agree. He's never crashed out in the 1st week.

Took another bite of Basso, 85 this time.

He is very much the forgotten man.

The only problem trading these is that you need a good result (relative to Andy & Contador) within the first couple of decisive stages. Otherwise the favourites become very short, and you're lucky to have anyone else inside 50/1.

So atm I have:

Andy 3.90
Basso 70 (avg)
Samu 120
Horner 270

The bet I'm liking is 11/2 Tony Martin to make top ten with ladbrokes, all other sites have him shorter ...
