Interrupting the conversation for a quick question:

Does anyone know the interview/have a link to where the questioner responds directly to lance saying "never tested positive", with, "what about the TUE", and lance replies with "well, yeah, except for that,"

...or something along those lines. Saw it on here, and could not get a good search (looked for TUE; corticosteroids; even 'except that')

Do you have any Therapeutic Use Exemptions?
No. Never have.

Never? What about the cortisone?
Well, obviously there was the cortisone.

About half-way down the interview:

Do you have any Therapeutic Use Exemptions? No. Never have.

Never? What about the cortisone? Well, obviously there was the cortisone.

I plonked him/her two weeks ago. Hard to believe any of the regulars are still responding to the crap. I wish they'd at least stop quoting him.

If it is a "her" does not that make "her" a trollope? :)

I'm about to mail them a similar letter myself. Wat een lachetje.

Vomit inducing reply.

First of all, I highly appreciate the effort you have taken to write this reaction and therefore I love to respond this message. Lance Armstrong has a very special position in the Netherlands where his success started. At that time he had even a Dutch girlfriend. In the Netherlands we have the opinion that you should not play back to the future with taking away titles of the past from Lance. Writing this I know that the opinion in the States is totally different. Mart Smeets, our most senior Sport Report on cycling supports this story as well. Famous cyclists like Leontien van Moorsel also support this opinion.
This shows that we never punish sporters on this for life and for that reason we feel sorry for Lance.

I totally agree that Lance can not compete on professional cycle courses anymore and I respect the rules of the WADA on that. I do not respect the opinion that he can never participate in recreative Running events like ours. And we can not be bounded by WADA rules indeed. Everyone should have the right participating in a local sport event. We do not check on drugs so I see no reason why he should not be welcome in our event. I do not belief that this will cause any damage. In the Netherlands this is not such a big deal. We belief that Lance will generate a positive vibe around our event.

Not really impressed with Sheryl Crow. If she went on to make these comments, it would have been better to say nothing and remain silent.

Bizarre how people Armstrong has screwed over still seem to fawn over him.

I don't get it.

If you had no clue about professional sports, obviously you would be impressed if you saw Lance working - especially as a road bike pro at world tour level. 30+ hours, week for week, ****ty weather, crashes and all the pain.

What would the lady's impression of a guy like Erik Zabel be? Doing at least 45k per year, leaving the finca on Mallorca at 9am, joining the group ride of 5-6 hours from Arenal, then adding another 1-2 hours on the loop around Llucmajor, arriving back at home at around 6pm? Day by day, month by month from November...

Please do not speak on behalf of all Dutch. Lance has built a business empire based on a massive fraud. And wants to continue this into other sports/events. With Mart one of his great supporters from way back. Vomit inducing comments indeed. Suggest to think beyond your own Hoorn event about the bigger picture? You have kids who are good at sports and/or are looking at societal role models? You have cancer in your family? If so you need to know most of the Lance generated cancer funding makes no impact on cancer treatment or outcome. It goes towards Lance and Livestrong branding and cancer awareness. I for one don't need more cancer awareness. Put the funds towards mental health awareness, schizophrenia, bipolar, depression, etc. everyone knows what cancer is/does. It's a devious scheme to build the Lance and Livestrong brand to give Lance more societal power, perhaps for future business endeavours or a political career. That's all. Based on a massive fraud. Suggest to invite some real role models to Hoorn...

From your own hand, some good advice for you.

I guess it doesn't fit your agenda so she should not speak about her experience. Would you prefer she be angry and bitter? Thats and awesome way to go through life. The clinic mediums sure got her reaction wrong.

I'm glad she spoke.
Strange don't you think that she did not make a denial that LA doped?
I wonder how she got on with the Feds.

Lance flagging a possible livestrong marathon/tri series... From his twitter page.

Yech. I already thought that the Rock-n-Roll and IM races were over-the-top too-slick, but this would ratchet that up a whole 'nother notch. Gimme a low-budget (or no-budget) fat *** any day.

And all money to benefit Livestrong. Right.

Perhaps their appeal can be that doping is allowed in their races? The only race series that allows as much doping as you want? :D

The high death rate should see ratings go through the roof. ;)

It's unclear the role she played, she neither denied that he used PED's or that she has given evidence that was the case.

Saying 'I feel bad for him' is meaningless if she has given some crucial evidence that gave credence to the accounts of Landis and Hamilton. Moreover, saying he "worked hard" won't count for much when A) it's obvious B) many will point out that several of the substances he was using help you work out harder.

Brian, you'll have to excuse JRT's post. He is a yellow bracelet wearer and deserves our sympathy.:D

What you say is accurate and I'm in agreement. My point was don't be butthurt because Ms. Crow gave an honest interview that didn't fulfill his desire for some bitter rant.

What a perfect empty-headed response. You live a sad existence.
