Oh trust me, it'll be like going downhill through the woods on a toboggan, except you've removed most of the trees. :D

Actually, it's too bad Chewie got himself banned. It'd be interesting to hear his opinion on these latest filings.

Of course, I wish the cycling press covered this stuff. They seem pretty darn uninterested in who knew / did what when in the USPS Affair.

That's presumably because the cycling press knew exactly who did what and when a decade ago, they just didn't bother to report it at the time.

It's kinda like the infamous Danny "Magoo" Chandler used to say.... "if you don't crash once in a while you aren't going fast enough."

RIP Magoo.

I can't think of a faster way to get your UCI/ASO press credentials pulled than to pursue detailing the UCI's participation in the fraud.

Nearly all of the real news in this story came from well outside the cycling press. ex. Sports Illustrated, 60 minutes, Wall Street Journal. To be fair to Daniel, the editor at CN he's pressed the issue about as far as reasonable.

I wouldn't hold my breath.

Sorry if I don't take your legal guidance

Testimony remains sealed. Different lawyer teams. Qui tam (civil case) lawyers would not have access to grand jury (criminal) testimony .

MarkvW said:
The federal lawyers in the qui tam have no access to the sealed GJ evidence.

MarkvW said:
They can be unsealed on a showing of "compelling and particularized" circumstances. They can't be used by the government in a civil case because they're sealed. A mere possibility of inconsistent statement doesn't appear to be enough to warrant unsealing. I'm ultra certain of the first sentences in this paragraph, and kinda certain of the last.

Some rather big developments in the Qui Tam case.

Tomorrow is a big hearing

Good post Race!

More games by Lance's Lawyers. FBI investigated media leaks in the criminal case.....but he pretends he does not know the results of the investigation. Silly, he must know the investigation show zero evidence of leaks. Too bad he still spews that nonsense.

which apparently include 29 memos produced by federal agents summarizing interviews with witnesses in the case........

........Peters said in court he is especially eager to keep hold of memos related to interviews with six USPS employees.

More games. The reality is the Feds would have likely had to share the interviews anyways.

An extraordinary number of leaks?

Who is this Eliott Peters guy kidding?

If there were leaks, they would have been posted on one of the monster threads on these forums.

The lack of leaks is what has been extraordinary. Extraordinarily boring and frustrating from a spectator's point of view.

Lance's attorneys are wasting their breath.

Dave.

Well, there was a lot of public info about the criminal case. Though if I remember correctly, a lot of it came from the riders themselves, not from the Feds.

I'd like to see the info from the criminal case made public (eventually).

Nobody.

After the hearing, Peters said FBI agents from Las Vegas interviewed him and others but that he didn't know what became of their efforts

Too bad the judge did not ask that question in the hearing, he might have had a different answer.

Where did you get this information? LEAK!!

"Your honor, I call Dave Dee-Queued to the stand to give evidence of leaks in the Government's case against my client, the honorable, victimized hero Wonderboy."

Weisel was clearly named in the Fed initial filing but they made it clear that they were going after only a handful of participants at this time. They reserved the right to pursue Weisel later. Weisel can still be brought into this. Landis, lance, and the Feds all want him.

 I thought (assumed) that Lance fears him. He seems to be higher up on the food chain than Lance is/was. He referred to Lance as his 'golden goose', sounded like he owned him. Well, it would be interesting to see what becomes of TW.

Go Wonderboy! Wiesel's your enemy now! Fight Wonderboy!

:D

Of course, if he throws Wiesel under the bus, the IOC will not like it one bit and not revisit the sanction. AFAICT, Cookson does not have a relationship with Bach that Verbruggen had with Rogge.

Wonderboy has to be careful here.

LOL, Any way that Pat and Wiesel can get busted though, is ok with me.

Fight on Wonderboy!!!

Note that Verburggen's name is also mentioned. If successful Hein will receive a nice request for information from his local police. If he refuses, or destroys the evidence, he could face local charges....although this is unlikely.

It is funny that Lance's lawyers are implying that the Feds got access to the Criminal case evidence illegally. Such nonsense

Did you expect anything different from Wonderboy though? He's full of nonsense, as is his entire defense team.
