This is the most potent nectar for the haters. Lance, to avoid personal liability, persuades his "wife" to commit a crime. You can't get much more vile than that!

Then apparently you don't know many addicts. Poor girl needs to move on. That's all I'm saying on the topic.

Still lying.

Former pro cyclist Lance Armstrong was issued two traffic citations in January for allegedly hitting two parked vehicles in Aspen?s West End and leaving the scene ? with his girlfriend apparently telling police initially that she had been behind the wheel in order to avoid national headlines.

Did anyone think he had kicked the habit?

Dave.

Will he be stripped of his drivers license?

Imagine if one of the Garmin riders did the same? They'd only get a 6 week suspension ;)

I take it they didn't want a lightly used SYSMEX machine ?

Thought this part was interesting from the article:

The Aspen police stated they attempted to take a blood/alcohol reading from Mr. Armstrong but didn't have the appropriate equipment on hand. Mr. Armstrong then offered the police his personal Sysmex machine but said they'd all have to fly to Switzerland to use it at the UCI HQ in Aigle.

The following day Mr. Armstrong offered a back-dated note to suggest he wasn't actually above the legal blood/alcohol level.

Armstrong has received a court summons for failing to report an accident and driving too fast. Maybe he'll blow the whole thing off and not appear, then claim he was singled out and scapegoated when given the default max punishment.

A question of Colorado law.

That is very funny.

But, the story has legs now and the truth is starting to rival the fiction:

Under the influence of chemical substances
Abandoning the scene of an accident
Lying to the authorities

That is a pretty good practice session for Lance. What is he in training for now?

Only surprising that they didn't pay off the witness, or otherwise send in the intimidation squad.

Lance, the gift that keeps on giving.

Dave.

Indeed! :)

In a statement released via his agent, Armstrong claimed that he'd had over 500 breath analyzer tests and has never tested positive

I'm Anna and we're the Armstrong, Lance is the 7 time winner, well, he's not the actual winner but he did win the yellow jerseys but they took them away but he still thinks he is the winner. Ask Jan what he thinks. Anyway we'd better go...

When the police started questioning Anna's story, she should have stuck with it and told the police "We like our credibility."

EDIT: But as Dirty pointed out, this screams of a larger problem.

Once you move beyond 5'-5", 145 lb. cyclists who desperately rely on you and your cadre for a living, intimidation becomes a bit more challenging...

Speaking of which, following the recent support of the only cyclist left clamoring to be his friend, Scott Mercier was heard to say "Lance should be given his car keys back."

;)

I guess girlfriend Anna feels she is now Lance's wife or something:

"I'm Anna, we're the Armstrongs, my husband's Lance, he was just driving too fast around the corner or something."

So Lance is now an "addict?" Didn't see that one coming!
