It is awfully quiet on the yellow band front; even the paid interns see the end.

MarkvW's over on the SCA thread pretending the Feds joined the SCA case. Lance fanboys are scurrying like cockroaches these days...

What I've thought all along is that people are going to empathize with him
as if he were a dog getting kicked. That's the old "he's suffered enough"
position.

You make me laugh.

The guy is still surrounded by paid thugs like Stapleton and Herman. He hasn't suffered at all...yet.

And, even if his fortune is driven back to zero, there is still a strong argument that we could then count that as the beginning of suffering.

I imagine Pete Rose still has fans. <shrug>

IMHO, Wonderboy's myth is a powerful combination of overcoming adversity and cheating to win. It's a replay of the American myth that America is the "land of opportunity" that protects/legitimizes a ruling elite. That they too can break the rules and gather wealth to enter the ruling elite from a much lower social class like a Wonderboy.

It's a very powerful concept at the individual level that plugs directly into the American Zeitgeist. I have to give Wiesel and Co. credit for leveraging the opportunity brilliantly. It's a criminal scam, but very well done.

Unless Oldman beat me to it, again, I predict he's onto another scam in 6 months. I see a "guest star" role in an infomertial. Maybe reality TV. He can't just walk away. It's impossible. He's screwed that up so many times now it's as plain as day.

Yup, they're lining up to see him in 'Vegas too.

Pete didn't just wake up and say, "I think I'll go to Vegas and try to make some money signing autographs." He's paid to be there.

Wonderboy can't stay away. C'mon Wonderboy! Dig into your suitcase of courage! It's going to be awful and waaaay more elaborate than Pete's routine. I can't wait.

I did picture him selling his signature. He'd do it in a heartbeat if he could make the $50 each that Pete Rose is bringing in. Pete swallowed his pride a long time ago and has retired comfortably; although not in the Hall of Fame.

But the answer is no; I hadn't projected the infomertial angle but it could work. "These vitamins work as well as the drugs I took to steal the Tour!"

Maybe Cheetah energy drink could use his talents.

Don't quite know how I made you laugh. I didn't say, I think he's
suffered enough only that others are likely to say it. Hey Slim, I've heard
people say that with my OWN ears--several times.

I highly doubt that you haven't. I know that I've even read it here, in the Clinic.
Anyway, TheHog referenced Stockholm Syndrome. As for myself, we'll just
have to see how successful the media is at convincing the general public what
a supreme tool the guy was/is.

I've been waiting for the DOJ to sign on before I conclude that he's soon to be
toe-up, reputation wise.
