The City of Sturgis chose Lance as our Grand Marshall because he represents the American spirit. Lance represents the business owners who have lost it all and are fighting to make a comeback. Lance represents the single mother who works 16 hours a day and has to keep pushing when she has nothing left to give. Lance represents the cancer patient that wants to beat the diagnosis. We understand the controversy that surrounds Lance, but we are willing to meet it head on. The City of Sturgis is about second chances.

He's hooting it up at RAGBRAI too. "We love ya Lance!"

This is getting gross.

This is getting funny! :D

Lance will also be making guest appearances at many of the Official Sturgis® Rally Sponsors, the BozBros Lot at Exit 32 and at local businesses such as Sturgis Coffee, Easy Riders Saloon, The Knuckle, Loud American Roadhouse, and Mid-States Campers.

That's quite a change of atmosphere from scenes such as these:

I've been to the Sturgis rally. Lovely place. Everybody there was on something, so Pharmstrong should fit right in.

they should also invite the famous "12 out of 23" (TdF winners) from the "give the jerseys back" initiative, because "every race should have a winner" (especially if there are so mane losers)

This guy is clearly doing something for Obama. What a crock.

The U.S. Senate on Tuesday unanimously confirmed the nomination of Andre Birotte Jr., U.S. attorney for the Central District of California, to serve as a district judge in Los Angeles.

"Throughout his career, Andre Birotte has shown a profound commitment to fairness and the rule of law, and he has earned the respect of the diverse communities of the Central District," she said. "I'm confident that his tenure as U.S. District Judge will be equally impressive."

Sean Kennedy, the district's federal public defender, said he believed Birotte would oversee cases with empathy.

"Andre will be a great judge because he's occupied so many different roles in the system," he said. "He's really a down to earth guy who understands the human side of legal decision-making."

Birotte could not be reached for comment.

Birotte's on a fast track to be our next AG. Especially if Hillary wins (which is a forgone conclusion). Maybe Hill can appoint Lance to be Chairman of the President's Council on Physical Fitness and Sports. I mean it's not like profligate steroid use prevented Arnold Scharzenegger from being appointed to that position under the first Bush.

Bill was one of the guys who called Borat on Wonderboy's behalf, at the request of his good friend Chris Lehane (Fabiani's business partner)

So....the United States Attorney who would drop a case because of .... influence .... will soon be a federal judge. One more indication that the Armstrong decision was a legitimate one, made by an honest US Attorney.

I expect the tinfoil hat conspiracy theorists are now going to double down.

No theories. Just grand amusement at the realization there are still people on this planet as naive as you.

Cynical? Nope.

I'm sure the true scope of the federal conspiracy to help Lance Armstrong avoid responsibility for his actions has yet to be uncovered.

It has already started. Judges. Bill Clinton. You have to wonder just how far up the totem pole this conspiracy goes. Surely the Queen of England and Da Joos can be worked in there somewhere.

Of course the prosecution failures with Bonds and Clemens had nothing to do with it. A cautious man may think that winning over juries when prosecuting celebrities might be problematic, but--No!--it's a conspiracy. Some might even point to Birotte's refusal to prosecute Angelo Mozilo, a man who ran what a Congressional investigation called a "fraud factory" and cost the U.S. public tens of billions of dollars, perhaps even hundreds of billions, as a sign that Birotte shies away from tough cases, something that would explain not wanting to prosecute a popular celebrity, but--No!--it's a conspiracy I tell ya.

I could definitely buy fear over losing. Maybe even making a bad call because of fear of losing. But not influence or corruption...there's just nowhere near enough evidence of that. Except here in the Clinic!

Not really. It's obvious, however, the process of connecting the dots will always be lost lost on some.

It's okay. You can't be great at everything. :D
