Don't beat yourself up over reading me wrong. It always takes awhile before people realize how great I am.

AcademyCC said:I understand alot of you guys have been on this forum for a while analyzing this whole situation and have developed certain stances and view points.
If you didnt mind, for a 'newbie', could everyone briefly outline;
A. What they want to happen from this investigation? and
B. What they think will happen?
Nice short answers are good. No worries if you cant be bothered but may be interesting just to see exactly where everybody stands.

Pawn?? A very willing player whose role when the facts come out will show him to be much more major than Hein and Pat.sniper said:To see Bruyneel, Verdruggen, and McQuaid get their asses wiped.
Armstrong is of secondary interest in all this.
He was just another pawn.
I agree with that entirely. You didnt answer the question though. Where do you stand?Cimacoppi48 said:Pawn?? A very willing player whose role when the facts come out will show him to be much more major than Hein and Pat.

But then this. Demonstrating a sense of history of British Pro Cyling, and yet we’re supposed to believe that the first Tour de France you ever saw was just this year.AcademyCC said:Allow me to introduce myself....
Ive always been a huge sportsfan but up until a the last tour de france have never followed cycling that closely. Everything has changed! The 2011 TDF blew my lights out.
AcademyCC said:Lets not forget that DM and DB are very close regardless of DM's sister's position. At some point sense has to prevail. British Cycling has done alot for DM since his comeback but its time to move on and possibly create another star
Yeah, OK.AcademyCC said:I understand alot of you guys have been on this forum for a while analyzing this whole situation and have developed certain stances and view points.

Let’s review. First we had this:

And the game continues....
Yeah, OK.![]()
AcademyCC said:Point taken no doubt. Is it not acceptable for someone to be interested and want to know more on a topic?
You guys obviously know what your talking about so is not the best place to find out?

AcademyCC said:Surely it must be clear from Dr Maserati dismantling me the other night that my Pro cycling knowledge is pretty limited. I cant see where your coming from. I watched the tour 2011 then read alot of books, thats its!!!!Im enjoying the fact that you guys think i am anything more than that that. Can we not just be reasonable.

Velodude said:In 2004 Verbruggen was dragging his feet to sign up pro cycling to the WADA code. This was a pre-requisite to compete at the Olympics in Athens.
He claims the delay was caused by pro riders threatening to form a breakaway movement to avoid coming under the umbrella of WADA.
Did not happen in 2004 and if ASO was to say "screw you" to UCI and WADA the Tour would become a non UCI sanctioned event without UCI pro teams and top pro riders.
Only a man and his dog would be on the Champs-Élysées for the final stage.

sniper said:of course he was major.
but Verdruggen nonetheless owned him.
Verdruggen and Bruyneel facilitated the whole circus.
To me, Armstrong was nothing but a sucker who wanted very badly to become an alltime American hero, legend, whatever.
He got the chance to become one, and grabbed that chance by its tits. I can't be angry at him for having done that (disregarding for a second his other wrongdoings).
Also: the unjustice done to Floyd (which to me is a much bigger issue) is much more owing to McQuaid and Verdruggen than to Armstrong.
I think if Floyd could pick between LA, Verdr. and McQ. and kick one of them in the balls, he'd pick Verdruggen and/or McQuaid, but certainly not LA.

Polish said:Welcome to the forum, AcademyCC. I am one of those that "have been on the forum" for awhile! Longer than most everyone here lol.
What I want to see happen from the investigation is simple: Doping Doctors need to put rider's health #1 First numero uno priority. If a rider makes the FAIL DECISION to dope, they need to be advised and treated most properly. If a Doctor fails to keep the rider's health protected, they need to be prosecuted - both rider and doctor. If a rider goes to a "backroom clinic" to dope - prosecute both even more seriously.
What I think will happen is pretty much the same. Baby steps. The "Health Laws" that are being used to prosecute in Spain, France, Italy, and elsewhere are good steps. I hope we can all agree on that![]()
