I'm right F-in here, you tool. And damn proud of a 37-year-old who had the ball$ to come out of retirement and is still very much in contention for a podium finish.

Read my history of posts - I'm no fan boy. But that's a hell of an accomplishment, period. Very impressive win by AC - looked like the kind of explosiveness we used to see from Pantani, (and maybe even a certain Texan). Chapeau to him.

Ohhhh I almost forgot good Samaritan Lance Livestrong come back from retirement because
a: He's got balls
b. To raise cancer awareness

P.S. Would you please be so kind and just don't put Lance and Marco in the same boat. Marco was Picasso on the bike like Simeoni said...

As a professional Psychologist I thought I would share something with the group here. Anyone continuously using the word 'fanboy' is exactly that - a 'reverse fanboy', someone who is infatuated with hating something regardless of the facts. I just thought I would share so a few of you understand you are psychologically worse off than the Lance 'fanboys'; but, you try to compensate by ridiculing, etc...

Whether you are a shrink or not, you've hit the nail on the head. The 'etc' at the end of your post also covers "abusing, insulting, attacking, belittling, offending, condescending, and arrogantly assuming that you know everything better. The hated 'fanboys' are all 'three week wonders, 'saddle sniffers', 'tea-baggers' and so on. 'Noobs' know nothing while those with lots of posts know it all and so on. Nothing but invective and diatribe. The head hate boy really has some serious personal issues, but the arrogance displayed by the whole hate brigade towards all who dare to think or believe differently than they do, is truly breathtaking.

The supreme irony though, is that they appear to have no idea how they're embarrassing themselves. :D

Jeez, don't blow a gasket brother we are kidding here!! Oh and your boy lance is soo not finishing second...wait and see:eek:

Perhaps we could get our forum shrink (Dr. Goober) to prescribe you some prozac for the alps:D ;)

I'm actually in the Alps right now - no Prozac necessary, thank you. My point was that he's second now, and within reach of the podium. Certainly a Top 5 unless he blows COMPLETELY on MV.

Doper?

I must have missed that race that Lance got disqualified from...which one did he get kicked out of for doping?

I think Lance did as much good for Cancer and for his own reputation during this tour than at any time in his amazing career. He stands alone atop the mountain. They do tend to build em like that in Texas.

Don't be so damn disingenuous. You're not 'kidding' and neither are your hate boy buddies, you're all dead serious because you're obsessed.

And your lot need the downers....and some counseling to learn to deal with things that you maybe don't like, without behaving like demented children. Life can suck, get over it.

Man, fanboy nation is taking this pretty hard. The funny part is that if you trace back 90% of the insult-a-thons, it is generally someone with few posts and a love for Mr Armstrong that begin them. It happens over and over. Another striking characteristic is the similarity in all of their attacks. I appreciate a well formed insult, but they are few and far between with that ilk. Most show no originality at all.

No, he's second right now...

OH MY GOD. YOU HAVE TO BE KIDDING ME TFF!!! That may be the most absurd post you've ever offered up. I KNOW you don't actually believe that. Goober would definitely call this behavior "projection".

And got the hell out when he was exposed to a real sport. Now go put on your one-sy and slipper-cleats and set a PR!! YAAAY! Are you the guy from Eastbound and Down?

I guess you just don't pay attention. I cannot count the number of times in the past 3 weeks that I have gone on a thread and seen a post by me quoted by just such a person. Someone I have never even read a post from. I guess we all see what we want to see, but you have no idea what you are talking about.

Funny thing too is that if you look back on this thread, it is YOU who quoted my post and addressed me directly. I never addressed you directly until just then. Dang. Introspection is also a characteristic sorely missing from fanboy nation.

TFF - I will admit that I haven't been on much in the last three weeks (been chasing the Tour around), so you might be right there. However, pre-Tour, you have to admit that the vitriol was firmly weighted in the Anti-Lance camp.

So - you may be right - I can't account for what's transpired since the beginning of July.

I don't really understand all this 'applause' for Lance losing the chance to win the tour today, everyone gets beaten at some stage in their career, if you're lucky it's right at the end of it. Armstrong is no different in this respect, Merckx, Hinault, Indurain all dominated for long periods and all got beaten at the end of their careers.

All the Lance haters are over joyed by today's result, to me it's inevitable, just like it's inevitable that some young unknown guy who is 18-19 years old now will beat Contador in the years ahead. If you're lucky you will be counted as one of the greats in cycling, uttered in the same sentence as Merrckx or Indurain. Armstrong has easily achieved this, Contador is likely to do the same, although he still has work to do there.

Great rides all round today, Contador was super, Armstrong still handed huge swathes of the peloton their @ss on a plate today, for a 38 year old who has been out for 3.5 years it's a great achievement, of which no other rider either currently or in the past has been able to do.

I hope he makes the podium, although I admit it will be difficult without a super ride in the TT

4 years out of the sport and he still is in second! That has to say alot about what level he is at and what level the rest of the riders are at. That is what should be looked at.
Once again, wrong.
It says a lot about how the Tour should dump the Team TT once and for all.

Lance is obviously out of shape so the tour is not worth watching anymore. I hope contador gets run off by one of those police motor cycles. I guess you cant help but win with one foot still in the jungles of africa. Why do we even have these eye hand coordination contests anymore? its not like we live in the jungle anymore and hunt our own food.

Dude, I address you directly because you and I have been on the Forum since the dawn of time. And, you know I am not a fanboy - so put that to rest.

Please do not insult other forum members, or you could get a warning from the mods :p

I believe Dr. Goover already counseled me, he exposed to this forum that I channel and express my insecurities and weaknesses throughout my dislike of LA
