Are people sure Cavendish is in the British group? Not spotted mention of it on Twitter, on the contrary, those in the know on Twitter says he is NOT there. Yet people on here seem to think differently?

According to British Cycling website - he's in the chasing bunch, doing better than he was early on in the race.

British Champs situation seems to be:

Lead group of 12:
Dowsett, Thomas, Wiggins, Kennaugh, Froome, Stannard (Sky), House (Rapha), Partridge, Wilkinson (Endura), Bibby (Motorpoint), Lampier (SigmaSport), and Fleeman (Raleigh)

Mark Christian (100% Me) was there but dropped.

The rest of the field - including the likes of Swift and Cavendish - are over 3'40. With more than half the race to go, and 6 Sky guys in the first group and most of the strongest domestic riders, the winner will come from those 12, almost certainly.
