He seemed to be overconfident and too easygoing. Next year he will be more dialed into how much work he has to do. We all give 100 percent when the lion is chasing us. Its the training that needs the 100 percent too. If he can finish in the top ten this year I will be darn impressed.

...well according to carmichael, yesterday marked the one year point of his comeback and he's excited on how much Lance improved in one year, while being even more optimistic about next year...

...being a cyclist myself, i should've guessed that he would be short some endurance being away for 3.5 years...but when Lance says he's ready to win, most take him at his word...not anymore, not for me anyway...

...he's going to have to recapture 2004 if he's going to have a chance at an improved Contador next year...and this means good race results in the run up to the Tour...the next two days will be particularly telling for him...he was better today than on Verbier but i'm sure he's not doing cartwheels in his hotel room in between twitter updates...

As per Versus commentary, there are only Astana and Columbia. And the only contenders are Armstrong and Contador. It's truly pathetic. I'll have a look at my Tour start list to see what riders are where.

funny then, that when Lance was interviewed he said he couldn't bridge immediately because it was too shallow to make a break and drop anyone, so he waited until a section where he knew the pitch steepened to make a move that would stick. I guess that means that he thought the "long run with a comfortable pitch" was not entirely ideal for him.

But, he was there, has ridden the road before, has raced one or two of these kind of stages, so why would we bother to listen to his opinion?

In fact, I saw that interview, and does not conflict with what I wrote:
*long & comfortable climb - averaging 5.8% with sections up to 7.5% "where he chose to bridge the gap" and the summit almost 32 km to the finish which is descending-in comparison to the Verbier climb averaging 8.5% with sections up to 10% finishing at the end of the stage--
cycling wise is simply comfortable for him to do what he did today than last Sunday-not need to be a genius to figure it out
