It would be good if all the teams of the contender swho lost time got together and formed the ultimate train and then dropped Astana like the pu$$ies they are.

It could be the Saxo-Rabo-Silence Test Team Train:D

Apparently you are only allowed in a break away if you aren't Cadel Evans....what a joke.

that's not a joke. It's team tactics. Cadel is a marked man, so he can't go without Astana following.

Well at least Astana had to chase for no good reason other than to tire them out. Plays well for Saxo.... with Canc up the road there is nothing to do.

Mark my words Shleck will win this Tour.

Who did Cadel think he was, FLandis? That was kind of a long way out to attack. I guess when you are just learning the skill, the curve is steep.

I agree

I hate how our aussie riders are reduced to being biaches of european teams - we need our team and we need it now

Yep, we have enough good riders for a quality tour de france team..

I know that. However I think its a joke, that he is 3 minutes behind and such a threat...he wouldn't have won today and wouldn't have made all his time back.

Exactly. It's perfectly normal and happens every single stage a short while after the stage start: someone is in the break who the peloton won't let go, is asked to leave, and if he doesn't, the break is caught.

Couldn't possibly be more common :)

.......

You remind me of the kazakhstani fans when Vino tested positive, completely convinced that Vino was framed because "Europeans hate kazakhstanis".
You also remind me of Lance fans spouting that everyone hates americans.

;)

Just saw lance being interviewed this morning. Man, he was not pleased with the way things turned out yesterday! Didn't wanna comment on the "split-team" questions.

i thought tiring out astana would have been not a bad tactic for garmin saxo and columbia...apparently i was wrong. A potential stage win/green jersey appears to mean more than a potential tour win.

provided they all want to be in the team and there is plenty of money. Sky is finding out, just being a Brit doesn't guarantee them allegiance. Money always comes first.

I'm just going to ignore you from now on, if you're that completely out of touch with reality.

Yea, but that was suicidal on a day like today. Not the best timing if you seriously want to win the Tour. He would have expended tons of energy and still come to nothing.

However, I do agree that it would be nice to see and Aussie team. There are definitely enough riders to put one together with a strong core of riders. You don't however want to exclude others I think.

OOh Efimkin's in the break. This should be interesting

No of course not, his name isn't Cadel Evans, so he isn't a threat! LMAO;)

You do realize he's nowhere near the rider that Cadel is, and therefore can be given quite a long leash, right?

EDIT: that was sneaky of you to delete your post :p

Yea, riding for a team from your country is all fine and dandy until you have to take a pay cut.
