I wonder if Saxo put Cancellara in the break with thoughts of Frank attacking on the climb. I think teams see Andy as a lot bigger threat, and probably won't chase hard after Frank.

I think something like this will happen on the Col D'Agnes, a gut feeling. I just don't see Hushovd doing the same for Sastre though. Maybe Flecha doing so for Menchov.

Just a thought

The first 30 minutes of the VS feed this morning was nothing but useless information that everyone already knows.

A decent climber w/exceptional decending skills

... has a chance at a long breakaway for stage 8. A pair of good descenders working together would be unstoppable. It isn't likely to happen, but Lance and Levi have mucho miles together this year. They could even think of the stage 8 duo assault as prep for Leadville!

This pretty much applies to everything on Versus that isn't the actual race coverage. It was good to see Bob Roll on the verge of tears over Contador's attack yesterday, however.

That is why I tried to wake up thirty minutes late.

This is pretty country. Looks like some killer rock climbing.

You think that's bad? One of these days I'm going to post some "episodes" that show the monstrous stupidity of the commentators we get here.

Once that happens I guarantee you'll never complain about yours again :D

Thor in green now and nothing Hincape can do about it. After the first sprint, George said something to him when he went by. Something like "Hey, you are not following the script ***" Good for Thor.

I enjoy listening to the French commentators. Even though I dont understand most of what they are saying, I can still tell they actually know what they are talking about.

I watched the last hour and a half last night so I could see the phantom motorbike incident, etc., and they were throwing in all kinds of human interest crap (as we speak, they are doing that exact thing. They are talking to riders about what its like to be away from their families). Versus just sucks.

Yea, I have had fun watching the feeds from other countries over the past year. (since I found cyclingfans). I pick up more than I would have imagined except when I watch Flemish. I get nothing out of that.

How much worse is the night coverge than the live coverage? I have not bothered to watch any of the "expanded" coverage this year.

I'm watchin British Eurosport with Dave Harmon & Sean Kelly.

Harmon just offered this classic quote:

'Yes the Scot Robert Millar was the last Englishman to wear the Polka dot jersey'...............

............Taxi for Harmon !

I agree msjett, what a bloody joke!

Perhaps I'm one-eyed but I agree too:) I don't see it as team tactics but rather bullying. I don't think they would have reacted that way with other riders, threat or no threat.
Breakaways have been swallowed up before by the peleton, maybe they should start bullying too.

I've lost respect for this game.

Should not that have been, 'Yes the Scot Robert Millar was the last Englishwoman to wear the Polka dot jersey'.

I haven't watched it either. I just assumed it was 30 minutes of race highlights and 1 1/2 hours of discussion of how awesome Lance Armstrong is..

LOL. The so called 2006 winner abandoned.

Does this mean Caisse might be more inclined to help Contador?
