You could, um, ride your bike there. ;)

If I lived anywhere reasonably close to the route, I would watch for sure, even if just on some random flat stretch of the road in the countryside.

I wouldn't dare! First off I don't have one - I guess I could borrow my girl friends little city-shopper-thingie-bike :)

But more importantly I'd probably not make it very far before either falling off or giving up from exhaustion...

Just saw - by the way - there's still some £20 and £60 tickets for The Mall available - I thought they we're sold out...

Probably watch on Eurosport player, but might rent a car and go somewhere along the route - definitely NOT going to fight London's mad Olympic traffic to get a fifth row view of other spectators standing closer to the action... I did a bit of that for the Jubilee which must be enough crowd ridicule for one year for this fan. Also I'm not sure I want to be seen with all these new-fangled fans who just discovered the sport... :)

But please let us know how the IRL experience goes!

Eurosport coverage not starting until the last box hill loop (circa 2.15)

BBC showing full thing though, on BBC 3, one of the dedicated HD channels, plus online, in HD too....

personally, I'll be watching on TV.

What are the actual start/finish times for the men & women?

I was intending on going down to the mall watch a bit of the finish and then go Autograph hunting - good idea?

For the test event the team buses were all in St James' Square, so I suggest you wait in your club there and then pop out about 4:30pm if you're after autographs.

If you want a decent view in the last 500m you need to get there for the start and stay. And if this is anything like the test event, you will not be able to see the finish from anywhere outside the ticketed area.

Start 10am
Finish when they get there (estimated a bit before 4pm IIRC)

London time obviously.

Billythekid,
Heh. Almost not worth going to bed then.

Maybe a couple of hours and some napping during the day;)

Driving to Epsom, park. Riding to north part of Box Hill circuit to attempt to see race a few times. Then over to Leatherhead to watch finish on big screen.

Watching it in the local cinema :)

They have decided to show several events, quite a lot of them cycling, live on one of their screens.

(If anyone is nearby: Forum Theatre, Malvern, Worcestershire

Tickets are free - don't know if they are sold out)

Butterfly bend on Box Hill - near the hairpins. Not sure where we can watch the finish though because the big screen is further up the hill

Even though it may be on the schedule I doubt they will show the whole thing as there is 500 other events going at that time. We may be lucky to catch the finish and I wouldnt be surprised if even the finish was delayed.

I will be watching online anyway ...

I'll be watching from the couch with my blankie. It starts at 7pm here and, according to the TV guide, it will be shown in its entirety on one of the dedicated pay-tv channels.

The fridge is stocked and all human, canine and feline inhabitants of this house know better than to annoy me while I watch. If they do, they'll find themselves locked outside til morning and I'll deal with their hypothermia/illness then.

A girl has to have priorities!!

Watched it in a rural market village called Glenavy overlooking Lough Neagh in Co. Antrim. I'm still there if your up for a scampi and chip in Johnstones bar. As the Dublin Guinness soaked through the veins I noticed the crowds at the road side where all very mannerly, organised and full of hearty cheers as the lads flashed by. Clearly Wiggins and Cav and made the event the spectacle it was from a UK TV perspective. Super slow motion images, an Alphine chicane with fixed camera angle while trying to understand Boardman made it a gripping afternoon on the bar stool and my text wars with Da Silva
