Would have been nice with a bit more suspense but solid ride by Remco. This season is already above 2022 for him.

Beautiful finale. Just superb ride by Remco. What a nervecracker that late flat, jeez!

So great to see Madouas to hang in there for silver, overall very clever race by French team.

Mathieu.... Did he had another options, maybe he did but he chose this one.
He needed another potential winner in his team. Belgium had Remco and WvA, France had Laporte, Alaphilippe (and Madouas), US had Jorgenson and McNulty.

Chapeau Remco - thanks for the heart attack.

I'll never understand why the UK devotes so much time & money to its track team, & nothing on the mens road race team

If you think it's bad for the men's team, just wait till you see how they treat the women's side, picked a track rider for the 4th spot on the team that they've now chosen not to use, so they're a rider down before they even start the race

Bringing Pog into every thread by his fans is sooo pathetic and lame... jeeez guys, we all know he is quite good but come on.
I love the Olympics and it should be a target for all top riders to want to win. It just makes me sad that someone who clearly would have been stronger than the winner didn't turn up and it cheapens the whole competition

Well at least the women have brought home the bacon over the years & been active in races.

Mathieu should probably have tried a bit harder to make it work with Wout after they got away the first time but when Wout proved to be able to match him on Montmartre, it was very hard if not impossible for him to win.

finally we get a race with 4 big riders fully healthy and.....one of them rides away solo anyway. meh
I thought this was a really interesting solo though, it just felt different than say MVDP soloing at Roubaix which to me felt very anti-climactic. Today, as you say we get '4 big riders fully healthy' and Remco CRUSHED them, an epically strong ride in the flipping Olympics in PARIS, and in so doing becomes the only rider to ever win the TT and the Road Race in the same games. All this shortly after riding to a very well thought of podium at the Tour; I just think this was much more than your average garden variety solo today; he came out of a tough Tour totally flying and this seemed like a pretty exciting 'big statement' ride to me. Just my .02.

To be honest is not a criticism, just a joke. You seem to quite often make fair analyses of the race just before a mutant blows all the tactics out of the water
Honestly, what's your problem?

You've done nothing but cheered for Remco the past months but as soon as he wins, you dislike him again.

At this point I think if Masnada won something, you would disown him as well.
