So the race without radios was kinda wild and interesting, but I loved that they rode under the Eiffel Tower to the finish line. Mass cool, they should do it again some time!

Chapeau Remco - thanks for the heart attack.

I'll never understand why the UK devotes so much time & money to its track team, & nothing on the mens road race team.

Pedersen's mechanical doomed that group. If he's in there to start with, there's a good chance it stays away.
Nah, I think Van Aert would always wait for Evenepoel. They never had a big gap on the peloton.

A lot of time and money with English riders on this course wouldn't get you much against remco I don't think.

But it was the Danes doing most of the chasing, wasn't it? Jorgenson was up there, so was Alaphilippe. Add Pedersen to the mix, and I'm not sure that they bring them back before the next time up the cobbled climb, after which the front group perhaps gets reduced to 2-5 riders with everyone working to some extent.

That post was not intended to sound like that group was going to stay away (although I understand it could be interpreted like that). Stuyven should still have been in that move, not like he did much after that anyway. So if that's average by my standards, that's fine by me.
To be honest is not a criticism, just a joke. You seem to quite often make fair analyses of the race just before a mutant blows all the tactics out of the water
