Simple; track is more controllable - and medals are almost a given = which then gets more funding. They'll not give that up.

But it was the Danes doing most of the chasing, wasn't it? Jorgenson was up there, so was Alaphilippe. Add Pedersen to the mix, and I'm not sure that they bring them back before the next time up the cobbled climb, after which the front group perhaps gets reduced to 2-5 riders with everyone working to some extent.

So conclusion. With Radius Remco would have still won, but Madouas would have not gotten a medal.

That post was not intended to sound like that group was going to stay away (although I understand it could be interpreted like that). Stuyven should still have been in that move, not like he did much after that anyway. So if that's average by my standards, that's fine by me.
